Since I'm going sly in a few days, I was just wondering.. on average, how long does it take each morning?
Obviously, I'm going to go verrrrry slow and careful with my first time (I have a headblade and headslick already), but once I get experienced, what am I looking at, timewise? 5 minutes? or 10?
-
all in all, it adds 15 minutes to my daily routine. the actual shaving takes less than 5 minutes.
-
Shaving head and face in one go at the sink takes me 15 minutes.
Edit:
Today I remembered to look at the clock - it takes a good 10 minutes now.
-
i take 3 to 5 minutes to shave against the grain. Twice that if lather up again and go over it twice
-
Takes me about 3 minutes in the shower after many many months of practice - -almost a year for me now being SLY BALD
-
On the rare occasions that I don't scrape the grape, I save 5 minutes now. Frankly, trimming the face fuzz is more complicated. Compared to pre--sly, it's about the same but mind you I had a really elaborate blow dry and spray job to get the combover ( !*u%e) in place--Damn I get mad at myself :Xo! when I think of what I did :-\!---so probably less time than pre-sly.

Once out of the shower (that time does not count), it takes five or six minutes from lather-up to using the washcloth to get the last of the soap off the edges of the dome. And this, mind you, with a single-blade, antique razor.
-
My face and dome takes less than 10 minutes.
-
id say about 10 minutes

To shave my dome takes about 5 minutes once I get out of the shower. Overall, the shaving goes pretty quickly; it's going over the head and feeling for any remaining little rough patches that takes a little extra time.
If you shave against the grain, once you figure out which direction your hair grows in, shaving goes really quick. And every part of the head, the hair grows differently.

+1 It's all about the prep work.

Yes, I would say less than 10 minutes in the shower. Don't need a mirror, which is, IMO, a waste of time, my hand tells me where the Headblade and Fusion, or Mach 3 needs to go. A mirror only makes you second guess what you know needs to be done anyway. Usually, that 10 minutes is from the time I step into a properly adjusted shower, till the time I exit that shower. I don't go there to have a party, just do what needs to be done.

I guess I should remove the keg and tap from my tub .. :D
That's kinda what I figured, time-wise. I normally use an electric razor on my face, but I might just go "classic" after this.

Normally less than 5 minutes from applying the HeadSlick to the cold water rinse! ^-^
-
Still takes me about 30-45 minutes... but again, that's two passes of the scalp (with the grain, then against), plus the face shave...
-
I shave in the shower, so it only takes me about 4 minutes. Have a fog less mirror which helps a lot. Do the back without the mirror and then feel for any rough spots. Good luck and lets see a pic when you are done.

30 - 45 minutes????? Maybe you need to skip the foreplay and just get to it.
In the shower and done in less than 10 minutes. That includes head shave and face shave.

I agree, even with two passes it should take no more than 10 minutes. :D

5 minutes scalp, 2 minutes face
-
It only takes me about 5 minutes total. When I first started it took 15-20 but now I know every little rough spot so I do it zombie mode and am done before I know it.

Perhaps some of us prefer the more slow-and-steady approach -- I can't imagine racing through this and having to deal with the resulting bloodbath... :-\
That said, I would love to entertain suggestions for making the process go a bit more smoothly/efficiently -- I mean other than shaving in the shower, since that won't be happening because I shower at night and shave in the AM.

About 5 minutes...
