Welcome to the club. You won't use the mirror after a while. 8)

A point (from a cheapskate): unless you are taking a "navy shower," which means wet yourself down, turn off the water, soap up, (shave?) and then rinse off--think of the waste of hot water if you take time to shave under running water as well as wash the bod. Well, I live where everything is expensive, so a long shower is something I feel profligate in taking--even when I'm at my school's gym and it's the taxpayer's money that underwrites the hot water. We have high (sky-high) taxes, too.
But my hair is on the fine side, so it's in good soft shape for a shave at the sink, post-shower. I suppose there are guys with barbed-wire hair out there who welcome as much follicular wetting as they can get...

Shower shaving is the best.... and no.... those mirrors don't stay fog free forever.
-
Marc, welcome, I used to do the sink shave, then I read how lots of these guys liked the shower shave so I tried it, I don't use a mirror, I do it by touch and I can get the job done pretty good. Yea, it feels good to do my workouts, then since I'm gonna shower anyway, I just shave there too. Feels great and it all gets done in one step.
Ming, I've never taken a 'navy shower,' I was army and if I took an army shower, I'd need a helmet, those days have passed long ago.
Oh, by the way, can't you make a regular mirror fogless by putting some of that rainguard for windshields on it?
-
Marc,
I have a fogless mirror in the shower and I love it. You can see yourself shave top and sides and feel for the rest. It's great. Go for it.
-
Johnnyo I've heard that you can use shaving foam. Spray it on. Wipe it down and it should keep the fog off. I don't use foam, so I've never tried it.
-
Thanks, Gam, I know if you spread liquid soap on the mirror then buff it off completely, it will stay fogless for quite awhile.
-
Cool. I might have to try that
-
Use a shower saver where you can turn the water on and off instantly, and the guilt of wasting water should go away.
-
ok so i went to walmart to get a mirror, and they looked at me like i had 4 heads. apparently the idea of a handheld mirror for the shower was really foreign to them :/O
-
I'm a shower shaver and have never felt the need to use a mirror. After I finish shaving I simply feel around for any spots I missed and touch up those areas. If you do need a mirror though, ther is a product called "Fog Away" that works great on a snorkle mask so I imagine it would work on a mirror in the shower.
I've never even thought about the water I'm wasting by showering in the shower. Perhaps that due to the fact that I'm a pick-up truck driving, gun toting, right wing, capitalist pig, that supports the "Drill Baby Drill" crowd. Just a thought.

I shower shave without a mirror in about 3 minutes and it works well for me - - - -
-
I picked up a mirror today at bed bath and beyond--they had several fogless mirrors but they are all the suction cup kind tat yu put on the shower wall--not familiar with a handheld one myslef...
Anyway I can honsetly say that shower+mirror=my best headshave yet...It is amazing how much more glide you get....
-
I've always been a shower shaver with a mirror. When I travel, I can do it by feel but it takes me longer and I have to be more careful. I prefer a mirror.
Definitely get a better shave in the shower though.
-
just tried it out. definitely a nice shave, but i'll need a mirror i think. practice will make perfect tho
-
For me, and cleaning off the head is very personal, I have found that shower shaves feel great--I'm a braille guy in the shower--but there's nothing like all the equipment, shaving cremes, etc. of a mirror shave for a long lasting shave. Now what I'd really like to try is a Hot Babe Shave [in my dreams--yeah wet dreams are possible at my age--]--but since my wife is a no no on the subject, it will remain a fantasy. Oh, what a fantasy. >:D

To make sure the mirror is fog free during your entire shower, use a little shower gel on the mirror to clean it off every time you shower. Will never fog on you. Also spitting on the mirror and rubbing it around also prevents the fog up!
-
Shower shaver here too... I hate to admit I gave a bro here a hard time about the spit on the mirror thing but it really does work! ;D
Google "shower mirror" or "fog-less mirror'. ;)

I have shower shaved for over a month now and I tried sink shaving the other day, honestly I can't say id go back to sink shaving its awful and it my head turns into a forest of irritation. I just got some cheap 1 dollar hand mirror form the dollar store, it fogs up but I just rinse it while im in the shower and it doesn't give me any problems.
