I finally did it! I shaved for the first time yesterday afternoon. It went OK - one minor cut behind the ear and a full blade and a half in the HeadBlade. The wife likes it more than she thought she would (she was against this all the way), my 9 year old son refused to look at me and my 6 year old daughter can't keep from staring. I noticed some missed spots, so I was pretty self-conscious last night. I shaved again this morning and did a much better job, much faster.
Now I just need some sun! Luckily I tan pretty quickly, but still need to balance getting some sun and burning.
The pics attached are Before, During and After. Getting full coverage was more challenging than I thought. Do you guys use a second mirror to see the back of your head? Or is it all just feel??
I'm a bit relieved that my head isn't too oddly shaped. Although the tan patch on the top really needs to blend in :)

I shave in the shower - seems to work better. Also only use 1 mirror and feel to make sure I got everything

Ok, Ed so you have a great shaped head and you look awesome bald. Just keep going to the pool, I went today for 2 hours. Very relaxing. I shave in the shower with a fogless mirror for the top and sides and do the feel for the back. Welcome

Way to go Ed! Suits you very well. I'm a shower shaver too. It's just less mess. I don't use a mirror unless I shave my face (which I still do at the sink)

When I go to the pool myself, I shave afterwards--fifty lengths thrashing along makes the hair about as soft as it is going to get, and I find even the disposable razor I carry in the gym bag lasts quite a long time. Of course, how long a blade lasts depends on other factors, and my topside hair is on the fine side, so dulling a blade takes longer, I'd say, than those with more robustly thick strands.

Great look for you! The more you shave the better you will become. After 13 years, I don't use any mirrors, just feel, and shave in the shower.

Congrats, very nice looking bald head. There is a learning curve in headshaving.
I use for the back of my the Braille-methode, just feeling with the other hand.

Looking good Mr. Ed, don't worry, your kids will adjust, they always do, especially after they see how much you are enjoying it. Maybe your 9 year old will even try it. I used to have a bald head when i was a kid, course, it was mostly from a punishment!! Ha HA oh, I'm a shower shaver by touch, feels good...

Looks great man, as for the using a mirror I shave in the shower so I do the whole thing by feel, including the back.

Glad your wife is coming on board..... Mine was the one who conviced me to do it!!! Heck she even shaved my head the first time...
