hello fellow chrome domes: b4 U had the "chrome dome" who did your hair cuts? i'll start: i had an awesome barber (retired navy) cutting my hair every 1-2 weeks. matter of fact.... my barber was the one that gave me my very 1st sly "haircut" 3 years ago.
so... how 'bout U? where did U go 2 get your haircut? barbershop? salon? spouse? significant other? what's your story?

Went to Supercuts for many years, but got tired of paying $$$ for something that only took a few minutes.
Then, I bought a Wahl and the Lovely Mrs. Schro cut my hair for several years before I went sly.

Id love to save the $12-13 bux every two weeks and get a Wahl but I have those damned punchhole scars. Oh well! Im spreading the wealth around.

When I was still doing the buzzcuts, my wife took care of it for me. When I decided to go sly, I went to a barbershop and had them use their balding clippers, and I basically took it from there.

A one man shop barber who is extremely popular in my area of town. Like 15 - 20 years, really great guy, even wound up doing some legal work for him and his family. I've stopped by, but as nice as he was and as good as he was at doing what he could w/ my "hair" I still had to get real and get sly.

Ex-paratrooper did my buzzcut every 2 weeks on Saturday morning then Mr. Wahl and Mrs. G until I went to the blade.

I had a guy that was straight up stuck in the 50's cut my hair most of my life. He had the "Johnny Bravo" cut going on, with all the gold jewelry. Tattoos all over his arms from when he was in the service. He was a really cool guy. The he moved away and I bounced around to a couple of different barber shops, but it never was the same. Last few hair cuts I had a friend of mines wife did, and then mother nature took over. My brother did my first clipper cut with a #3 guard. Then I bought my own and the rest you can see on the history channel O:O

I went to a barber, who in fact was sly ( bald by choice). I used to wish I had the balls to have the same cut, but for a year or two I just kept getting it shorter and shorter, number 3, number 2, number 1. Finally I asked for a number '0' and he suggested I try shaving it at some time.
I wish he'd given me my first shave, but unfortunately he left the barber shop before I got the courage up.
But he was definitely my inspiration! 8)

I buzzed my own with some clippers..... every week.

I buzzed with beard trimmer twice a week for a long long time. Decided to go back to sly last December and will never let my hair grow out again Sly for Life :D

My daughter. She went to school to be a hair stylist. After graduating, she did it for about a year, decided she didn't like it and quit. We said that's fine, but since we paid for her schooling, she owed us a LOT of haircuts.

my dad use to take me to some barber and he just buzzed it off when i was growing up... until i turned 15 came out of the closet and made friends with other people of my orientation and then i started pay 60 bucks a month to go to a stylist up until i was 21 and started going bald and then i went back to buzzing, but this time around i buzzed it myself

I've always cut my own hair, I was in the military and since I knew how to cut hair, I used to cut the other guys hair for a couple of bucks. The only time I went to a barber was just a few days ago to get it buzzed down so I could come home to shave it.

Alternated between Great Clips, Super Cuts, Fantastic Sams, and my Wahl clippers

Been using clippers since I was 16 for most of the time . Used the barber for a few years when I had long hair....... But that seems like another life time ago.

An older guy up the street, his shop was attached to his house. He has been cutting hair for 40+ years, part time till he retired his full time job, then full time since. He is the type of guy who knows everyone of importance in town, and all the history (not a small town); a really neat guy. I miss him.
I moved 5 years ago, and had a couple of different barbers for a couple of years till I finally shaved it all. I miss going to the barber shop for all the talk, and information you could get there.

My trusty clippers with no guard

Funny this topic came up. NOt 10 minutes ago I bumped into my barber that I have gone to for years. He thought that he had done something to offend me and wondered why I had not been in to see him. After seeing the shaved dome he was relived.
Also, he thought it looked great.

Wife, then Sport Clips, then me when I realized I could do it myself. Then curiosity got the best of me, and 5+ years later, I've been slick (and happier). You older guys might remember the margarine commercials from the 1970's... 'Don't mess with Mother Nature.' Well, I guess I did by hurrying up the process.

supercuts for a while, then I just did it myself with clippers.

I cut it myself the previous 20 or so years before it started going away. It was really curly (Yeah, the girls were jealous. They all wanted to know where I got my perm, LOL.) and pretty near impossible to screw up.
