wowww I shaved my head today for the first time in the shower, and I must say it was incredible. all the stubble was comming off in one pass, and best of all VERY little irritation. Just gotta get used to doing everything by feel but MAN im so glad i tried that.
Thanks again slybaldguys for making my life better :D

Glad you finally had a good shave! I used to be a sinker too 8) I still do my face at the sink.

Tried shower shaving once ... think I'll stick to the sink, thank you. :-)

Me too.

I am a recent shower shaver convert.... I LOVE it, too. My sink and floor used to be soaking wet after I shaved... so much easier in the shower, and your skin is extra hot from the constant water. Can't believe it took me so long to try out!
I picked up a cheap non-fog shower mirror to be able to do my face too. Don't need it for my head, but now I don't have to shave my face in the sink either.

I am usually a shower shaver. I also find less irritation shaving in the shower. I also do my face there. But I will touch up on the face at the sink!

So far in my very early sly life I have been a sink shaver. After reading this post, I think this weekend when I have more time I may try the shower.

I have on several occasions done a shower shave. On the plus side, it is faster, of course it leaves less water on the counter but that's about it. It's not that much faster, and together with my experience that it is never as long lasting as a nice, carefully done sink shave after showering keeps me in the sink shaver group. I am rarely in such a rush that I need to save the little time it takes, and since stubble shows up w/in 6-8 hours, I'm aggravated with the net result. So for me at least, it's like the weapon, Fusion, M5, Mach 3, or HB, each guy and his scalp have to find each other regarding method, products and equipment to gain the "sweet spot" of sly for themselves.

I've been a shower shaver all along. Easier, cleaner and I get a better shave.
-
I prefer to shower shave, however, on the occasion that my fiancé beats me to the shower in the morning I'll sink shave while she showers.

i don't do it because its faster, doing it in the shower just makes it much easier my razor cuts through the stubble much easier and I never have razor burn after a shower shave either.

Sink guy myslef--my wife has one of those extending mirrors by the sink--so I can angle it with the main mirror to see the back of my head.....
-
We have two sinks/two mirrors in our upstairs bathroom, so I can be busily working on myself, without creating a holdup for the wife/kids (now that school's out, it isn't nearly as much of an issue, but it's great when people have to be places!)

Face at the sink - - -but dome in the shower - - -I have recently changed and am real happy with the results of the slick melon from shower shaving - -very smooth - -and great to rub
Try everything

I used to shave in the shower. However, since our water rates have gone through the roof, it's the sink for me. And realistically, I feel I do get a closer shave at the sink.
-
I have always been a shower shaver. It is much easier and less mess. I have a fogless mirrior in the shower, and that makes it much faster.

Mort,
No need to take a chance shaving with a blind eye in the shower... get one of those hand held (shatter-proof) mirrors from Wallly/KMart, CVS, etc or even one of the dollar stores, and use that to help guide you along the top and sides of your noggin. Some of these type mirrors have large enough handles that make them superb for shower-shaving. The back of the head may still have to be shaven sight unseen, but the shower shave beats a sink shave hands down!!
-Hope this helps-
-Cap'n Noodles-
- BTW- Try a few drops of olive oil mixed in with your favorite shave cream/gel and massage it into your scalp, let sit for a few minutes, then shave!!

I had a shower shave was about 14 months ago. After that, I did not have shave in the shower until last night. I was surprised with how easily the hairs came off and how smooth the shave was and as morthen points out no razor burn at all. :@`
So then I wonder why I haven't done it for the last 14 months?
I don't have a fog free mirror and so it's a pain to do parts in the shower and some in the sink. I will not shave the regions near my eyebrows with "touch and feel". It would be suicide to risk shaving off my eyebrows or cuts in my forehead.
But thanks Morthen!!! I will get a mirror once I'm back from china.

No problem! as for Mirrors, I just got some cheapy dollar store one, it fogs up but i just rinse it off it works pretty good, I only use it for the top of my head though, the rest I do by feel

To each his own but shower shaving is the bomb. No mess, less irritation, scalp stays warm from the shower steam. No need for a mirror..you have to go Jedi with the razor..become one with it. I've never used a mirror and so far so good - in fact the only time a carved myself was sink shaving with mirror...go figure (got careless and went too fast). I tend to pace myself better in the shower Plus for me the shave lasts longer.

im a sink shaver at the moment, but i'm going to give the shower shave a shot
