I was searching for some info on replacement blades for the HeadBlade. I had been shaving my head for a month with it and had to get new ones, and the HB blades are available online only (and a little bit pricey) here in Germany.
Well, I found all the info I needed here, plus much more. I began to check in daily to read from other sly guys about their experience. Then I joined SBG on June 17, 2009. Glad I did! 8)

umm.. I think I was searching for hair loss treatments. and this was like an "alternative" solution, type thing..
I don't remember but I'm pretty sure that was it

SBG member GaryB turned me on to this forum. O0

Exactly the same for me.

Me too! Man, I was lucky. This site has been awesome!

Yep! Searching the internet for info on head shaving.
Became an active member in November of 2006....didn't actually shave my head until January 2007

I needed to figure out how to shave the melon, and SBG was in the list brought up by Google. I lurked, but for some reason I didn't join up until at least a week after I'd done it. The support really was key to holding my ground against the family complaints even though I had lots of compliments from the start at work, other friends and a few relations.

I found a link to the site on Wikipedia. I'd already been shaving for a couple of years. I lurked for a couple of weeks and eventually registered.

Googled information about care for bald head care.

I was actually a member of another forum (Headshaver Central, I think: ??? not nearly so cool as SBG 8)) and they were complaining that everyone was defecting to SBG because it was obviously better, so I gave it a try...
...It WAS better, by miles, so I stayed. O0

I think it was in a depressed state searching about hairloss... found this site and my hope went up at that moment.

Too funny.
I think you can tell from the orders of magnitude difference in our post counts here who is blessed with the gift of gab and who is not. (I will confess to a certain degree of Chauncey Gardinerism in my internet forum activity: often lurking, seldom posting.)
In fact one of the reasons I actually post here is that I was creeping myself out, lurking. Does bootedbear remember that I read this site? Does he care? Will he think I'm some skeevy internet stalking dude when he realizes that MikeM is here too? (Bootedbear and I both hang out on about one short of a bazillion internet forums.)
For those who don't know already, bootedbear is one of the mysterious forces of the universe (or the internet, I constantly get those things confused). In fact, I suspect that when the GUTters get past their current fascination with E6, they'll realize bootedbear's been there all along, waiting to be found. Or, in an alternate cosmology, we'll all realize that the earth is flat and travels through space on the back of a bear (shod in boots).
-
Internet Search: "Head Shaving," "Shaved Head," I think those were the most likely terms. SBG was a link on some other site.

(shod in boots).
And now a suit!
Great pic BootedBear!

I guess my post answered those questions.
[History: when I shaved my head for the first time, I posted a photo on one of the other sites MikeM and I frequent, and he directed me here. And introduced me to HeadLube.]

No wonder I need so much Ibuprofen! And I thought I was just getting old! O:O

Thanks, Tyler. I just wish I didn't look so danged serious. I didn't feel that serious when I took that photo. (In fact, I don't think I ever feel that serious.)
I wanted a photo that showed how versatile sly is. Looks good with my usual tropical shirt, and looks good all spiffied up too!
