Was this targeted for me?
I have not been to the beach in several years - - -BUT
Last week - being on a cruise ship "Caribbean Princess" to the Caribbean - -I hit the beaches in St. Thomas - St. Maarten - Grand Turk - - -We also went to San Juan, Puerto Rico, but the old historic part was so beautiful that we did not get to the beach.
I had never been to Grand Turk and was very impressed with the beach and the water - it is a very small island part of the Turks & Caicos Islands
The water in the Caribbean is a beautiful "green" - I have seen it many times but each time the water is more beautiful than before
Thanks for asking - - -I had a great time
-
Best part about going on the cruise and going to the beaches was that my "SLICK MELON" got its first great tan

Me and all my friends go to the Indiana and Michigan dunes at least 10 times a summer. Me and a buddy go early to run the dunes in the spring, it's an awesome workout. Nothing beats good old lake shore drive though. You pick any of the numerous beaches usually North shore. Been to the dunes twice this year so far.

the last time I was at the beach was like...ten years ago
yay for living in arizona T_T

It will be two years Memorial Day. I got an awful tan line from wearing a ball cap. :-[

Spent 18 years in the Miami and Ft. Lauderdale area. Loved the fishing, but now I enjoy my trips to the mountains more than the beach.

Jan, Feb, & March this year. Wife and I went to the beach almost every day. Where my AV was taken. We usually don't get sun-burns, been doing it long enough we know how to do it. Winter time vacations, out of the Midwestern ice, snow, and bad weather for most of it. And to the beach where I pertake of the Three (3) Bs
Go to the Beach
Drink the Beer
Look at the Babes
Unless its raining, then you have to throw in the Fourth B
Go to the Bar

Last October. I have my first beach swim of the year every Memorial Day regardless of the weather (with lightning as an exception. My last ocean swim is always in October.
-
About 4 years for me. I was in Miami for training and got to dip my toe in the ocean. We may go to Galveston this summer (at least that is the plan).

We are heading down to Destin end of June, HOPEFULLY, if we can't go there we are heading to Myrtle beach instead. I've never been to Desin so we are really hoping things (oil spill) will stay clear down there. Other than that it was last August went to St. Augustine. Really nice town, I'd like to spend more time there one day. Also I try to make a trip to Stienhatchee fishing at least once a year, no beach there though.
Hey anyone know why I can't change my settings. Tried to upload pic. but it won't take.

I'm not far from Destin. We're hoping he BP oil well will be capped soon...
So far the only oil on the beaches here is suntan oil. Our last trip was Mother's Day. We'll probably skip this holiday weekend, but go back next weekend.
If anyone is wondering if the oil has made it to Destin, just ask someone in or near the beach, not the folks on TV! Don't cancel a trip for a oil spill that hasn't made it to shore yet.

In late March / early April. We were vacationing in the Tampa area.
Nice time.

Salisbury Beach, last Labor Day. Was my first (and so far only) dome burn - had to stop shaving my head for four days to allow the soreness to subside - totally sucked!
-
I haven't been to the beach since last summer. My girlfriend is a beach monkey and is there now. I'm sure I'll be back soon. Btw, Warhawk, I used to live in Gulf Breeze, Pensacola. I had a condo right off one of the holes at Tiger Point C.C.. God I loved it there. I just had some issues making money at the time so I had to move back North to PA before I ended up homeless. :) You're in paradise my friend.
-
Just got in from Orlando. We thought about going to the beach. Folks down there are really worried about what the oil spill will do. Even in Orlando - since a lot of the theme park crowd come for both beaches and amusement parks.

I was just at the beach today, usually get there once or twice a week. Set up a chair, got out my book to read in the shade of a tree along the coast of Mosquito Lake. Beautiful day to relax by the beach!
Hey, you never said what kind of beach! Despite the name, Mosquito Lake is great, and only 5 miles from my home. Usually get my kayak out there at least every week.
If you mean ocean type beach, we were at Indian Shores FL (Clearwater) two years ago in February. It was unusually warm, in the 80's that week. Five years ago we were in South Florida - Ft. Lauderdale and Key West, and a cruise to the Bahama's.
-
hey challengeme: i'm talking 'bout any beach. i remember growing up in chicagoland as kid; my buddies & i would ride our bicycles to the beach (lake michigan) 2-3 times a week during the summer time. O0

My wife and I just spent a great week on South Beach.
-
While we live at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina we only get on the actual beach front once or twice a year.
-
Beach? What's a beach? I live in Nebraska, we got no beaches here...(grumble grumble)
Seriously though, was in Floridia last Sept and sent a day at the beach.
I so wanna go back.
-
What's a beach? Yeah, been that long! :'(
-
The wife and I will be enjoying the sun in the Miami area this weekend! I have some 100SPF for my head! We were in the Daytona Beach area for July 4th, 2009.
-
We were at Cannon Beach on the OR coast a few months ago.

We used to go to Salisbury Beach when I was a kid. Also, we'd go to Old Orchard Beach and Hampton Beach. Every summer we spend 3 weeks in MA. So, then we go to York Beach, ME and Nantasket on the South Shore. Sometimes we manage to hit Hampton Beach as well.

Last year. Went to Wingaersheek beach, Gloucester, Mass. Absolutely fab. Any of you guys know it?

Beach? Who can like the beach? I spent my mid-teen years in Pensacola and often was at the beach; then I matured.
Beach? How do I hate thee? Let me count the ways:
Relentless sun and scanty shade
Stickiness from suntan lotion before wetting
Salt-stickiness from after a frolic in the surf
Sand in intimate crevices
Pensacola also had Portuguese Men o' War to add "spice" to the experience
Unhealthy food at concessions (there was a place at P'cola beach in the 50s/60s that served wonderful, grease-soaked fried chicken, "The Firehouse")
And, of course, the prospect of future skin cancers (of which I have had some removed).
I now live as close to a barrier beach as I did in Pensacola, but much more northern--New York to be precise, and it must be a decade since I dipped myself in brine.

Cam Ranh Bay in 1968, believe it or not, it was beautiful..

Aloha,
You can see by my greeting that I am some how connected to Hawaii...yes, I lived on Maui, three different areas in one and half years- July, 2008-Sept., 2009, (west side north of Lahaina town). If it wasn't for a divorce after 28 years, I'd still be there. Our last condo was ground floor-walk from lanai onto grass to chaise lounge with cold beer on sea wall, 6-steps down to the beach, and watch the turtles, dolphins and whales. Talking about paradise under he palm trees-that was it. Also have lived at beaches in Oregon (Pacific City) and CA(Santa Cruz). Now in Sacramento but want to get back to the beach- I'm a Bald Kahuna fish out of water.

For me it has been about 20years since I have been on a beach and that was Lake Erie and 35 years since I have been to a real beach (Atlantic) Wow, when I say it like that it makes me think that I need to go see one soon. :-\
-
Last year (So. Cal), and we will be going back again next week. California here I come! O:O
