Hi folks ! This is incredible! I can hardly believe it!
Last week I got an interview for a job that needed much more experience than what I have (I'm a French high school teacher). But then yesterday, I got a call from the principal : he wanted to see me again. So I went there this morning expecting to be told why I could not get the job ! But hey, surprise ! He told me that I did fairly well against the 8 other applicants. After he told me I had the job (yes sir !), he was happy to tell me that I got it because I look much more older than I actually am, and that I projected a image of self-confidence that really impressed him in someone so young.
Talk about an ego booster ! Thank you Shinny Dome ! O0
And thanks to you all for your great support ! (Got 19 feedbacks on my introduction statement ! So sick...)
Kick butts, shave heads

Great news, and I guess the SBG Brotherhood can now be confident that your confidence level as a Sly Teacher is not "shaky" anymore.
You're going to be a great teacher--what subject and level do you teach?

Just goes to show that what's been posted time and time again on these forums is true: confidence sells!

Bon travail mon ami!

That's awesome!!! Congrats!!! O0

Congratulations! It goes to show that a little (or a lot) of confidence can go a long way!

That is awesome news! Its great to hear of another sly brother who feels the confidence boost from shaving your head. Interesting that on younger guys it makes you look older -- and for us old guys who used to have at least a little gray hair - it makes us look younger.
-
Fantastic! O0
Seems like sly is working for you.

Way to go Joe!

Awesome! Congrats!

"shaky" - not anymore in my professional life Saintc. In my personal life, it's a completely different story. But I seem to begin to accept that I must let go on what people think about my look and focus more on how I feel about it. Although, it is an easy thing to say, but a difficult one to truly feel.
I teach French in first and second grade in Québec, which would be equivalent to 8 or 9th grade in the U.S. I believe (12 to 14 years old kids).
Kick butts, shave heads/starting tomorrow - to kick teenager's butts :popo

My bet is that a similar experience is in the offing on that too. I hope the next thing we hear is some woman, a colleague, hitting on you in the teachers' lounge! O0 I kind of think that's about so certain we can take it to the bank. Hope they don't have adverse fraternization rules that would mess that up!

give it time, confidence is a momentum thing, start building it with little things, and soon it carries over to other things ;)
