While I was in the shower this morning, I looked at the baby oil and had an idea. Since a few of the fellas have had great success with KoS and Head Slick, why not Head Slick and baby oil? I started off with the usual Head Shed then put the baby oil on my noodle, followed by Head Slick. I loved it! Gave me nice smooth results, and no cuts. I'm still running my hands over the noggin like it's only been a couple days since my first shave. No problems with baby oil clogging the razor, and it smells pretty good too.

Sounds like a good mix bro. I think I'll give it a try. I also checked out this other web site that reviewed a bunch of different products. www.headshavers.org
One review on there is actually about baby oil and using just that alone. They say, on the site, that it's pretty much the same as using any kind of expensive shave oil it's just that baby oil doesn't have all the extra vitamins or whatever else is in those shave oils. I actually gave it a try one time about a month or so ago. It worked very well. Like PigPen said, no cuts or irritation. It gave a very smooth shave. It's like my razor just glided across the dome. Now this is using just baby oil alone. I mean you do have to add a little water to the mix so that you create a good lube, but not much. I think I used just a few squirts of baby oil. I applied that first. Then I just stuck my hand under the running HOT water real quick and then rubbed that around on the dome. It was a good shaving experience. I only had two downsides to it. Since it is an oil it was a little harder to clean the razor I used. But as PigPen stated it didn't clog his up so I'm guessing he used his HeadBlade. Maybe that won't clog as easy with the baby oil. But the biggest problem I had with it was how oily it left the dome. I mean it is baby "oil." It could just have been my routine though. I'm not one to re-wash my head when I'm done shaving. I just rinse with cold water and apply my after product, usually HeadLube. I guess the cold water alone wasn't enough to wash away the baby oil. Maybe if I would have rewashed the dome then applied the HeadLube it may have not been as oily. But anyway, to try and make an all ready long story short. Baby oil does work well and it's waaaaaay cheaper then any of the other shave oils out there.

I hear that lance... nothing against baby oil but I am a fan of a solid, Regular matte look. Oils always leave my head a little shinny. I think I will stick to the HeadShed, then HeadSlick, Cool Rinse and HeadLube routine.

Sounds like a good pairing... If you've got butterfingers like I do, get the aloe-baby oil. It has the consistency of jelly, providing more control.... I've seriously spilled a whole bottle of baby oil and it took about 2 hours to clean up.
just mah 2 cents.

I do the same with Hot Six oil

Works great, I love the smell too. I find it in the ethnic section of most drug stores.

Tried the baby oil under some plain ole shaving foam and it worked great. Only problem i found is that running my hand over my head looking for those slightly rough spots i missed more then usual. But on the flip side i found i could confidently shave faster then normal. I think i'll use it anytime i need to shave my head quick but not worry about getting it 99.99% smooth.

I gotta try that combo tomorrow morning. I like headslick and the tingly feel it leaves on my head. I tried KOF oil for the first time today. I didn't leave my head oily or anything and my scalp isn't irritated at all. Less cleanup at the sink too. I thought the blades would have glided over my dome more smoothly though.
Oil is definitely a different headshaving experience. I had to rely more on feel to make sure that i'm scraping all the stubble instead of the visual cue of the razor peeling through shaving cream.
Not a bad experience. definitely left my noggin shinier.

I ended up having to use some HB Triples since I ran out of Atras. Noticed a huge difference using the trips with baby oil. Best ever shave with the trips. There was a morning I was in a hurry and forgot the baby oil. Not nearly as smooth.

I noticed the same thing. Trips and baby oil gave a smooth shave that lasted much longer. Problem is the oil seems to cause me to break out more (I've got oily skin anyway). Anybody have the same problem and found a solution?

Have you tried some ClearHead afterward? It has salycic acid which is commonly used to treat facial acne.

Thanks BG, I use ClearHead after every shave. I even tried washing with warm water and soap to remove any excess before I use my cold water rinse. Was wondering though if HeadWipes work for anyone?

I tried some shaving oil before I applied the HeadSlick and it did make the shave a little more smooth but I really had to rinse good because I already have an oily scalp. Just something to consider. ;)

The Bald Guyz wipes work great Paul.

Thought I had read that some time ago in a thread but couldn't find it. Thanks PigPen, defiinitelyh getting some tomorrow.

I don't use baby oil, but when I use various shaving oils, I'll break out if I don't wash my head and face thoroughly after shaving... What I normally do is wash again using HeadShed after shaving with oil. Seems to do the trick...

I think I'll try that Rob... I can darn near oil my handguns by rubbing the parts on my noggin! :*))

I didn't shave all weekend and tried the KOS Oil and Head Slick combo this morning. I gotta say, the stubble came off like butter. No redness or irritation. I'm hooked.

Can't wait to get my hands on that KoS sample.
