Title: 30 day challenge has begun
Post by: MercuryNYC on April 15, 2010, 01:41:57 PM
Hello all, I'm Will, just started the 30 day challenge today. I am 22, had a full head of thick hair, but at this point in my life bald is a much better fit. Just shaved down with a Mach 3, lots of irritiation and a cut or two but I'm loving it already. Pictures to come.

Welcome and congratulations on the decision to be bald. There are plenty of tips on here to help with your routine and irritation. Check out the head shaving section specifically.

Day 2! It was awesome logging on and seeing the warm welcome, thanks guys.

Did not shave this morning but will tonight. I'm going to switch from baby oil to shaving gel and see if that helps. Also going to shave with the grain tonight then against in the am. I'm hoping that will get rid or alot of irritation and get me free of sandpaper head.

I've been getting a ton of compliments about my appearance, guys and girls both think I look better. I feel alot more confident for sure. I have such a baby face that people thought I looked 12 when I had a full head of hair. Not anymore! Plus my boss said I looked like hitler, which is really the greatest treasure of all!

Why not put on the baby oil, then top it w/ the gel--, just a thought.

You boss sounds like a social Tourette's victim.

I agree with saint, you're boss sounds like a real winner, it's a classic case of foot in mouth.     :/O

Back to the headshaving, if you can pick up some Shave Secret oil, it's one of the best you can find. It's found at Walmart.
Try that with some HeadSlick over it for an excellent shave!  O0

Shaved down to the skin against the grain looks awesome. Gave a business prsentation and felt much more confident. My scalp is a little dry and itchy but other than that I'm doin great, even dandruff is gone!

Yeah, life is great--it's so hard for guys to really accept it.  There's a wealth of information on dry scalp, i.e. shaving balms etc.--this is really going to work for you.  The big plus , since you are making business presentations, the big factor, people will remember you--it just happens and it makes you a valuable commodity to your company,  believe me.

Hi Will -- its amazing the confidence boost that shaving your head gives you.   I'm in front of clients all the time and love the confidence boost.  At least now I know they're not trying to figure out if my rug is really my hair (it was my hair -- I paid damn good money for it!)  Follow Saintc's advice -- he's given us all pointers that have saved our scalp.

Welcome Will I agree with the guys you look great.  I work in a Community College in CA and do presentations in from of students, faculty and staff and could not feel more confident with my shiney dome.  Although, at times I am afraid the shine distracts them.  :*))

I think you would need the little moustache strip and a bad combover to actually look like hitler, I'm sure your boss was thinking about skinheads or something. It would still be a pretty dumb comment even in that case. I like it when people feel comfortable to speak their minds, I just don't like it when their minds are empty and they speak their mind.

Looks great on you, a good move for sure.

Remember to take a warm shower and shave right after that to lower the irritation. I also recommend the Nivea shaving balm, I've been using it on my face with success for a long time, and it works great on my dome too right after the shave.
