Like many here I worried about how my head would look after I shaved, what would people think or say, etc, etc. That was 1997 and there were very few white boys with shaved heads, especially those of us who still had full heads of hair.
When I pulled the clippers through the front of my hair, I knew that I had done the right thing, and except for a sojourn into flattop land for a few years, have been bald since 1997.
I have read many posts over the years about why guys would shave their heads. Many say because they were in the first stages of MPB. Others say just on a whim. We all posts pictures concerned if our head shape is right, is the scalp discolored, is the shadow too heavy.
I would like to say now that I am shaved bald just because:
I like it as matter of fact, I am very happy being bald.
I love the way it looks, the smoothness and the shine.
I feel better bald.
I am far more confident without hair (I never wanted all that styled and poofed up mess anyway.)
So I am bald by choice because it feels right to me, no matter what the shape of my head is, no matter the heaviness of the shadow,. I don't let it worry me that I am not in perfect shape or that being in perfect shape is a prerequisite of being bald. I am happy and that is what counts. So if you want to be bald, don't look for a reason other that the fact you want to be bald, then shave your head, enjoy and be happy!

So if you want to be bald, don't look for a reason other that the fact you want to be bald, then shave your head, enjoy and be happy!

Agreed. When you get right down to it, I'm bald because that's what I want. It looks good (I have never looked better in my opinion), it feels good (love the feeling of the sun, wind and/or hands on my head), and it's my hair to part with if I want to, dammit! O:O
