I'll preface this by saying that I buzz my hair most of the time anyway, so taking the plunge to shaving wasn't a huge deal. Mostly.
Anyway, my work is that I'm a priest, and I had a funeral today. The cantor who sang at the funeral told me afterward that she didn't even notice the head shave until half way through Mass. "I think that means it's a good look for you," she said.
I just thought that was kind of a cool comment.

like you, mine was always short to begin with and it took my 8 year old son about 30 mins. to realize something was different when he got home from school. He then told me I need to start wearing hats again. ;D

Back when I first shaved (after being buzzed for just over two decades), I had a one-on-one with my boss and halfway through he asked if I'd gotten new glasses.
He knew something was different, but couldn't place his finger on just what...

HaaHAAA! That's great. Reminded me of a similar comment I received shortly after I took the Sly road. (I had sported the buzzed look for some time.) Midway through a conversation with a business associate, she furrows her brow for a moment, and asks: Have you lost weight or something? :*))

Hey Father Pat, I kind of did it in stages also. I have had a very short crew for years, so going the sly route wasn't a huge step. However, my wife still hates it.
I only do it once a week, so by the end of the week the crew is back, until Sunday night. I know Sunday should be a day of rest, but that is when I do the head shaving ritual. LOL.

That's cool stem, this way you get to take your time and really enjoy the shave, and the "newly smooth" dome!
I'm shaving again today after about a week or so myself. I'm ready to be shorn smooth again. ;)

So true NY. It is a great time of the day for me. It's at the end of a nice lazy Sunday and it's a great way to wind down and recharge for the week ahead. Plus I don't feel rushed and can really take my time with it becuase Monday through Friday I am lucky I have a half hour for myself.

I don't know, I can see where taking some time to shave and stuff could be relaxing!

It's very funny Father Pat. Now that I've been doing it. No one even notices. It's a far cry from when I went from hair to a short crew. However, I was wearing a very short crew for years and just recently went bald, and it didn't seem like a big deal to anyone. I guess the two looks were so similiar no one really noticed.
I think when people get used to seeing you a certain way, if you were to grow your hair back, they would start making comments about you having hair because they are used to seeing you bald.
