I just joined the site recently. I think it's pretty cool that there's a site just for bald guys. Any pointers to help build my confidence and ditch the hat?

Go to the home page of this site, select, "Shaving your head" read the various variations on shaving, select your tools, and have at it.  You'll like it.  Keep it thirty days, you won't go back.

First off welcome to SBGs!!! 8)

Go SLY and ditch the hat if you already haven't!!!  While you are doing that, research this forum extensively and you will find all the advice you seek...and if you can't find it, start a post with your thoughts, questions, and concerns...and the years of SLY experience here will get you the answers you seek!!! O0

I'm in the same position as you. I'm 22 and started shaving my head.  It's not sly yet, but I give it at most a year and I will.  My biggest advice would be...be a lurker on this forum.  The great thing about this forum is it isn't a bunch of babies complaining about what they can't change, it's a bunch of real men being men.  Life happens, accept it and move on.  Men aren't described by their hair, they're funny, leaders, bada**es, and basically the same people they were before, and you'll be the same.
