Hi Guys!
I have just started wet shaving my head for the first time this week after years of electric trimming and do I feel better for doing it! Since I was 21 (29 now) I started thinning and lost it all on top except from around the sides but I have always buzzed round the sides to keep it short but this week I thought to hell with it and took the razor blade to it and the only word I can think of is 'FREE' at long last!
I ordered a head blade yesterday and can't wait for it to arrive. Has anyone had any problems with it?
Hope all you guys are well!

Right on. Welcome to freedom.

Welcome!

Thanks!

Welcome! The thing you want to be careful of with the HeadBlade is that you DO NOT want to apply much pressure to the blade when you're starting out. Also, there are different types of blades that you can use. HeadBlade triples are more forgiving for the beginner.

Welcome Slick - - -I got a Headblade Sport last week and I have had no trouble - -I really like using it - -make sure before using - -you use a warm wash cloth on your head for a few minutes then use your shaving gel - -then shave - - -I get a real close shave and it feels great - - - - -Have fun here -Richard

That reminds me of a T-shirt I keep meaning to get printed:
"Free from the tyranny of hair!"
Congrats on your freedom.

Thanks guys! It's great being made to feel so welcome by you all and thanks for the head blade advice. I'll defo post back and let you all know how I get on with it. I have always tried to keep what little I had left round the side of my head but I feel so much better now and and feel that I have finally let go and it feels so good!

Welcome. Could you explain something for me? I ask this because from my experience, I wasn't going to wait until the final profound baldness arrived. What was the essential reason, if you know it, that you tried to keep it? I ask because I see these guys going around w/ a horseshoe and I personally just can't see how or why they do it.

Welcome to the forum, Slick!

Hi Saintc. I can't really explain maybe it was more denial and trying to hang on to the 'horseshoe' although it was trimmed as far as it would go with an electric trimmer. I started losing when I was about 21 and I found it real hard to accept as I had the shiniest, blondest and floppiest hair around and I loved it and then when it started going, the teasing and smart arse comments came flowing.
I always found it strange when I started college and uni (with a full set of hair) I never had a relationship at all but as soon as it started going and I started trimming it right down, thats when women started to get interested. I could never figure this out and to to this day I still can't? :P
Has anyone had this sort of experience?

Hi Slick Head,
I used to have the prettiest hair as well, but as I went bald I buzzed it. I gained more confidence. Because of the buzzcut but also other things like traveling.
Women love confidence, also being bald makes you stand out from the crowd :) You have to remember: don't compare yourself with the person you were with hair. It's useless :)
And you know what: a lot of people have hair, but a lot of people have ugly hair too. Really, it does not much for them to be honest. (Have you guys ever thought about that?)
Greetings!

You are bang on Polarbear! All my mates have a full head of hair and I always thought that I looked odd and in a way not normal (lack of confidence) :'(. I have only just started feeling good about myself over the past 2 years as last August I got married and although I am the only guy in my wedding group photographs with a bald head, I stand out and the photo is a lot more interesting with my shiny dome. :*))
