I know what he is going thru. I just had a couple of stents put in on Tuesday. Strange coincidence. Fate makes for strange bedfellows.

Hope all is well with you, Tom.  Isn't modern AMERICAN medicine amazing... how quickly surgeons can do these procedures with minimal invasion and quickly being discharged?

Wishing you a speedy recovery, Tom.  My dad had two stents inserted last May and has been fine ever since.  I'm sure the same will be true in your case.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery.  My brother had a stent put in 5 years and has done very well.

These days and at our age, it's sort of a 5000 mile check up and change of oil.  Keep strong, sly and have good humor.

Just want to remind posters to this thread that it is NOT just American medicine.  They actually do stents, same day, in most Western countries.  Comments  like this only further the often eroneous feeling that American are insular and ignorant of the rest of the world.

Glad to hear that you are doing well, Tom and wish all the best for the future.  As someone that has experienced two rounds of heart surgery I envy those where stents have providedthe answer.

Absolutely right ken. About the only way the USA leads the world in health care is COST. It is certainly not ahead in terms of mortality and the other measures that measure QUALITY.

Must be nice to live in one of those countries with a less than 100% mortality rate.   ???
