Title: More BIG snow!!!
Post by: Mikekoz13 on February 10, 2010, 05:26:56 AM
Well the snow started with a vengance again yesterday at about 3PM. The forecasters are calling for about 15 inches by the time it stops around 6PM this evening....... BUT we already have about 14 inches so I don't know what the Hell they're looking at!

Luckily this snow is super powdery and light. Moving it will NOT be an issue.

I shoveled a path to the hot tub last night and Mrs. Koz, the kids and I all got in for about 40 minutes. Bathing suits and skull caps!!!

The Mrs. took a couple of photos of me shoveling the path in my bathrobe and slippers as well as a couple of the kids and I in the tub. Maybe I'll post them up later today.

What we had here this morning was heavy and wet. More is on the way; hopefully it will be lighter.  I'm really ready for spring.   :(

More evidence of Global Warming.

As I've been saying for the past couple of weeks.   ;D

With the current snowfall, we're setting a new record for the snowiest winter of all time -- beating the 65 inches we got back in the winter of 1995-96.

Snow globe conditions outside here on Long Island at the moment (mid-morning), and it's kind of sticky--the trees and shrubs are looking lovely, but the prospect of moving the stuff and getting around after is never pleasant.  The weather forecast uses the word "blizzard," although the wind has yet to pick up.  Luckily, my workplace declared today a "snow day" as early as yesterday evening, so I'm still sitting here in my robe with the last of the breakfast coffee cooling by my side.

I'm reading a book, "Watching the English: The Hidden Rules of English Behaviour," and the author, Kate Fox, nails it about snow, in that "it is aesthetically pleasing, but practically inconvenient.  It is always simultaneously exciting and worrying."  Unlike hurricanes, which can manage only three of those four adjectives.  You guess which ones.

Exactly what I was thinking as I was shoveling a place for my dogs to take a crap this AM.......
