Hi guys. I'm 29 years old and I've been losing my hair since I was 21. Finally had enough and decided to shave 30 minutes ago. Wanted to say a couple of things.
I had no real plans of going sly until I came across this place. I had been contemplating it for a while and knew that eventually I would end up doing it. When I met people with their head shaved I would ask them a question or two (like how often did they shave, what razors they used, etc).
You see, back when I started losing my hair I tried Rog... and even though it worked, I would get an allergic reaction and also got shivers. I stopped using it after a little while.
Then the doctor recommended Prop..., and the thought of taking a pill for the rest of my life in exchange for having hair (and also the impotence issue) was enough for me to say no thanks.
A couple of months ago I went to a consult for a hair transplant. I'm glad I didn't go that way. Mainly because he said I'd have to take Prop. after the operation or I would end up losing what little hair I had left.
Finally, I want to say that IMHO the sly look is not for everyone. I've seen pictures of some guys and I feel that the look doesn't fit them. I see others and feel the opposite.
With that being said, I would like to ask for your sincere opinion regarding my new look. I promise I won't get offended :)
Thanks again guys for inspiring me to shave my head. I have a million questions, but all in due time. Look forward to playing golf tomorrow without a hat so I can get a nice tan (plenty of sunscreen of course).

hey gimme: welcome 2 the sly fraternity. glad that ya joined us and welcome 2 the club. U look like a natural. i can't imagine U with hair. i hope U enjoy your new look and give it the "30 day trial". the "30 day trial" is an unwritten rule here at slybaldguys.com. U must keep it shaved for 30 days. after the 30 days... the new head shaver will B able 2 decide 2 keep it smooooth or grow it back.
99% of new head shavers decide 2 keep it. again... welcome 2 the sly fraternity. keep us posted with all the reactions of your new look. O0

Welcome. It really isn't so much what we think, even if we all agree it works very well for you, but it is all about the worries you've had about "losing" hair. I did the Roegain bit--huge rash, more $ to the skin doctor.
Ultimately it is a decision whether you want to be balding, and I have to say few if any look better w/ a fringe, or just completely sly. Buzz is another alternative but that only works while the mpb is symmetrical, if it ceases to be symmetrical or a little "island" becomes isolated in front effectively giving you two hairlines, sly is always best, IMO. I would bet you're going to stay sly after 30 days, it is just too easy and you're going to get a lot of positive feed back. Just try to count how many compliments you got on your thinning hair--goose egg.

Thanks guys. First day felt pretty good. I will definitely give it the 30 day trial, but I already feel like this is a permanent thing. Why go back, right?

Gimme, you have nothing to worry about in your looks. You are suited for the sly look. Enjoy it. While you are at it, take a look at all the info about products and hints for keeping your sly look. It is a valuable source of information!

This morning I shaved for the second time... want to look sharp for the Super Bowl. At the moment I'm using a 3 blade Personna brand disposable. They're $0.50 each. I've been reading a lot these past two days, and will try the Personna Mag 5 soon. I'll also send them an email for the freebie >:D
