Post by: RyanJP on January 31, 2010, 06:16:36 PM: You know I was gonna chime in regards to the Tesla roadster but I came to the realization that no matter how cool a car looks or performs if it's electric it's not cool and the main reason is if the price tag is $100k wtf would you get that over let's say a 911 or a BMW 635 ?

Post by: D.A.L.U.I. on February 01, 2010, 08:58:34 AM: Well if you can afford that car, you can afford gas at $6+. I didn't do the economics on it, but you have to have really high gas prices, drive predominately in a city, and drive a lot to make it work for the pocket book.
Me, I'll take my Mini Cooper any day.

I was with you on this until I rode in one. The Tesla out performs the 911 like crazy and only costs $.01 per mile to operate. Oh, and the price tag includes the price of all maintenance and fixing any mechanical issues outside of you running it into something and tires.
