So there I was yesterday, sitting in the waiting room of a plastic surgeon that I'm building a website for, when he came out and apologized for taking so long and we'd be able to start our meeting right away. There was this older couple sitting next to me & the husband leans over and says "Was that the doctor that just came out and talked to you? You must be pretty important!" So I said "Well not really, I'm just going to be building him a website pretty soon" He smiled and said "Wow, I thought you were the Mayor or something!" "Nope, not yet but I'm working on it. Once I am the mayor though, I'll of course then make my way to be the first billionaire Prime Minister and afterwards I'll get to work on the whole Cancer thing..." referring to my general greatness & all, considering how "important" I am.
Dead, awkward silence, followed by that kind of nervous smile people make when they're reeeeally uncomfortable. I thought they just didn't think it was funny & quickly followed it up with a "Well, I'm a good designer but not THAT good." and just pretty much left it at that.
It wasn't until after my meeting & I was in the elevator to the lobby that it dawned on me, these people must have thought that I was a cancer patient because of my bald head, and THAT'S why they suddenly started acting so strange! The security guard gave me a weird look when I got off the elevator trying like hell to stifle a laugh.
(Sigh) Nobody gets me...

They probably went to their local community center and told all their friends about it.

I had lunch with one of my liquor salesman a few weeks ago - -he looked at me quite concerned and asked me: "Are you OK? - -I said: "sure" not thinking about the shaved melon of mine - - -then realized he was looking at my smooth dome - - -and I said; "did it for Halloween - -loved it and kept it"

Hey, you gave them something to talk about all day. You could have went with the Mayor thing and kept it going, lol. ;D ;)
