The cold! Every winter in the North East gets harder and harder. The only positive thing I can think of about the winter is I have so much time on my hands I can get more done around the house. That and I don't like wearing hats but have to because my dome dislikes the cold more than I do.

My answer..................... yes.

Like Warhawk, we also have mild winters. Mostly we'll get a few days w/ lows in the 30's highs in upper 40s or 50a, then a few days of low 50s, hi low to mid 70s. This may sound wimpy to my brothers up north, but if the "cold" days last any longer than a week, it gets to me. Our heaters for homes are pretty basic, and few if any have humidifiers. that results in really dry air and the sinuses take it hard. Also, like Warhawk, I don't like the short days, especially in the evening when it's dark when I leave the office--that really sucks.
I have to travel a lot, and many times to the home office in upstate NY, and that's professional grade cold. In addition, you have to get all layered up to go out even if it'
s going to be for a short time, at 7-11 degrees F, it's killing. And frankly, I have some, but not a lot of clothes that are for that cold weather. Iowa in winter makes you wonder how they made it there during the pioneer days, it seems that below 0F is a regular affair. That's just miserable.

The fact that I live so far from the mountains (I snowboard).
Coldest temp ever for me was -38/39F, the winter I lived in St. Petersburg, Russia. We were going to throw a party if it got to -40, where the Fahrenheit and Celsius scales converge, but it didn't happen that year.

I don't like the fact that I can't ride my Bike regularly...... but not because of the cold. The cold doesn't bother me..... it's the ice and constat`nt wet weather that bothers me....... I don't like the short days either.

THE COLD! :(

i don't like the fact that it ends! i love winter.

I enjoy all the seasons one as much as the other. BUT, I do hate the fact that I get dry, itchy skin this time of year. Drives me crazy!
-
Here in New York - -it has been warm: 30's and 40's - -the snow is almost gone (I hate to say it because it will most likely snow tomorrow) Worst part of winter (same as you) dark short days
-
I love every aspects of winter, however I loathe people who constantly complain about it, don't know how to drive in it, and always find themselves unprepared.
-
I hate the dark mornings and early evenings, and scraping ice off the windshield of the car. >:(

Getting a cold (like the one I'm having right now)!

Traditionally, winter time brings on a very uncomfortable skin condition for me. This year, for the first time in memory, I am free of it. (So far.) I'm thinking the Omega 3 fish oil tabs I've been taking daily for the past 6 months may have something to do with it. Not sure.

I guess I'm one of the one's that can appreciate something about every season......with winter I would say the thing I don't like the most is cloudy, overcast days that are well below freezing but no precip falls.....Not to long ago it was right at 0°F here in TN at night, if its going to get that cold we might as well have something to show for it. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow-besides that it feels good on a bald head!

What bothers me most about winter: The Cold
What I love most about the winters: The Cold

I don't like being cold. That is why I live so far south. But what REALLY bothers me about the winter is the lack of sunlight.
I think that getting alot of sun is something humans need to get Vitamin D and boost your mood hormones. The sun going down at 6 o'clock is way too early in my opinion.
In the winter I have less drive, less energy, and am generally in a worse mood than the sunnier warmer seasons.
-
I am generally a cold weather person, but for some reason, this year I have nearly froze to death. The winter this year has been colder than normal for Houston. Also, these short daylight hour really suck! Personally, I think they have daylight saving hours backwards.
