Agree with Koz.
I like the benefits that shaving my head provides, but proud of it...not sure.
That being said (given the cards I was dealt), I wouldn't "wear my hair" any other way.

Only thing I'm more proud of would be my kids....

I am more "proud" of the growth I have made as a person. But I do like being bald and feel it is the best way for me to look!

I'm happy that I discovered that being bald is my preferred look and feel.
-
I'm proud to show my scalp to the world,
and I allow head rubs from every girl.
I'm very secure in who I am,
I'm proud as hell to be a bald man! :*))

Nice rhyme Sarge!

Thanks, I worked on it for 9 weeks! ::) :*))

I don't know if proud is the word I would use for my being Bald by Choice. I think it is more of a personal preference. I am proud of who I am: a good father, I was a good husband and I am a good man.

I am as proud of being bald as I am of the fact that I was born in Chicago.

I'm just as proud of being sly as I'm proud of the choices I've made. O0 I think alot of the people that go threw the "trial by fire" of losing there hair or whatever ailment that is causing them to be a SBG is a testamonial to everyone that comes to this site, I've met alot of great people here and made a couple of great friends. I've been shaving my head for the last 4 years, the last 3 by the headblade, a month ago I decided to grow it out for two weeks and It grew quick. I was at my friends house and he has a side cabinet with a mirror so I check out the back of my crown and guess what, it was thin as hell and I was suprised because all my family has full thick hair. I didn't lament didn't freak out because, I thought about the fellow people on this forum that have actually when threw turmoil hair loss and I feel for anyone that goes one something traumatic, myself I said f!@# it and went home and got the clippers and headblade out 1. My hair doesn't make me who I am 2. If its a choice even if I had a full set of hair I would be a SBG till I die.

Well said Shadow!

I wouldn't put proud to be bald per se, but proud that I have accepted my baldness. Additionally, I am proud that I have grown and matured as a person in the last 10-15 years. I have also shunned some bad habits and adopted healthy, positive ones.

I'm proud of the fact that I finally took control and dumped the insanity of trying to pretend that I had hair (I wore a hair piece). I think for me the terms that fits best are "confident" and "in control" whereas before I shaved my head I lacked confidence in that I was hiding the fact that I have MPB and felt like society was controlling who I was trying to be. I am proud to be an American, a father, and a member of the SBG's group!

I have a full head of hair, so I'm BBC. So I guess when I go sly, I must be pretty proud to make that choice instead of wearing hair.
However, I'm a little different from a lot of guys here. I go back and forth between hair and no hair. So I use my bald (sly) look as just another option. However, the more I come to this site, the more I am digging this look and enjoying the carefree life style.
Like others said, I'm more proud of growing as a man, husband and father and hopefully at the end of the day can look in the mirror and like who's looking back (hair or no hair).

OK, I'm not sure I get what you are saying here... ...a Wisconsin plate on your post... ...most cheeseheads would not want to admit having anything to do with Chicago... ...Is this Sarcasm??? An emoticon would really help here... ...Maybe... ...I dunno

I was being literal but cryptic. What I was saying there was that being born in Chicago was just what happened, kinda like being born to a particular set of parents. That was my destiny and there was no way around it. The story with the hair loss and subsequent shaving is similar. Where I am now is where I was destined to be. It all has to do with forks in the road, brother, forks in the road.
But I did go back and read over the thread and after reading what some of the other bros said about making decisions I have somewhat altered my stance. Because I could have gone the fuzzy toilet seat route, I don't think I EVER would have taken the combover turnoff.....I never liked spending that much time combing my hair even when I had hair. So I guess that I am proud of the decision I made to go sly because, for me, it was the best decision even when the vast majority of people I knew were not in my camp at the time.

I'm just glad I made the transition from short hair to being bald.
-
I'm proud of being bald and I love it, nowadays being bald is acceptable and it is no longer considered to be a taboo.
-
Proud? I think going sly has made me even a tad narcissistic ::)

I like being bald and am proud that I was shaving my head YEARS before it really went mainstream. I use to be the only completely bald man in a restaurant in the early 80s and now there are usually a number of us.
