Hi, I'm 20 and have been losing my hair since I tuned 18. I shaved my head on a whim a year ago and have been alternating between shaving and using clippers with no guard since. Doing so has improved my confidence a bit, but I still feel really self conscious about my hairline and tend to wear hats all the time. I've been using Rogaine since May but it doesn't really seem to have done anything. My hair loss isn't huge yet but its steadily progressing. The picture is what a bad day looked like a year ago.

Welcome. Personally, you're headed genetically to be a bald guy. You can hang on until it's obvious or you canget in front lead the parade and be sly, shaved. But the drugs, no way, our, that is to say SBG, mantra is "No Drugs, No Rugs, No Plugs." That mantra will save your money and may very well save your health. Stop the drugs whatever you do, they're bad for your health and your wallet. Emphasis on health.

Welcome to SBG! I Think the best thing that's going to help relieve your worries about your hairline is by shaving with a blade everyday. If you haven't shaved for a solid 30 days in a row, give it a shot.
-
I think the bald pic looks cool, is that at no guard buzzing? The bald really suits you well. Just embrace the baldness and shave with a blade. I am only 23 and mostly people don't realise that I shave my head because I am balding because they can't tell. So at the moment it doesn't matter how much it progresses any further because nobody can see how bad it is, even I am struggling to figure out quite how much I have left now.

Welcome to SBG.
Taking drugs is not only dangerous for your health but it also tightens the feeling that there is something wrong with you that has to be cured. But it is just that your body is changing its appearance according to your genetics so it is completely natural.
It is just a cosmetic issue.
Since you've already shaved, I would also suggest that you try to shave for 30 days straight, avoid wearing the hat as much as possible and see what happens. It has worked for many others to overcome their doubts and fears that's why we recommend it here. Good luck!

Bros gave you good advices. Shave it for 30 days enjoy the good feeling and the good look and be happy. Life is more then hair.
Best wishes for 2010. O0

Welcome to Sly Bald Guys. Looks like you can grow quite a beard. Try the bald head with the full beard look. It might suit you.

Welcome to the group.

David,
Looks like you do have some hair that rather than shaving it all, go slow
and see if you like the look or not
In the short/long run, the clean look is the way to go
Remember you need to be happy with yourself....try to make every effort
to keep that in mind...get rid of the hats...it's not the real you
Good Luck...we are here to listen

Thanks for the support. I think for the moment I'll keep on just buzzing my hair off. I'm growing out a beard so that I can later crop it down to a handlebar and goatee. I think when that when the facial hair is ready in a month I'll be ready to try sly for a month.

David,
First off welcome! I myself, am like you. I have a hairline that is cutting back as well. I have been trimming my hair with a zero guard for almost a year now and recently shaved for the first time. I enjoy the shaved sly look, my fiance does not. I am going to shave for a month and see what happens though. Either way, zero guard or shaved is the way to go. What a great look!
Have a great 2010
Andy
