Title: New fusion convert!
Post by: IRONHORSE on December 10, 2009, 03:40:25 PM
After reading a few threads here with the guys singing praises about the fusion, and having spotted a Fusion Power on sale for $8.99 at my local Walgreens, I decided to give it a shot.I have about a week under my belt with it, now - so here are my initial impressions.

Upon opening the package, I must admit I felt pretty silly putting a battery in a razor.
It doesn't make me feel like I got a facial or scalp massage - BUT -
The vibrating actually helps out quite a bit in getting the gunk out from between the blades - just dip it in the sink and it vibrates it all out.
The shave is fantastic! Quicker and easier that the Quattro Titanium I was using, and the blades are cheaper!

So, I am yet another SBG who wholeheartedly endorses the Fusion! O0

Right on.  I haven't used anything else yet but I really have no complaints at all about the fusion power.  I go back and forth with the vibration during shaving but it seems to work about the same either way.

I used Fusion, Power and manual, for nearly two years, great shaves.  But, then I found the Personna M5, my Fusion is backup now, 2d string.  It's that good.  And the price is wonderful, $5.88 for 4 blades.  Great.  Just to tempt you guys, you'll still get a great long lasting baby butt with Fusion, but M5 is a step up in quality and a huge savings.

I'm a Fusion user myself.  I have the manual, didn't really see the point in a vibrating razor.

I love it!  I tried the M5 after reading about it on here, and so far I haven't been impressed.  I went back to my Fusion last week.

I love the Fusion, just wish the blades were a little cheaper.  Over £6.00 for three blades is not funny! >:(

I tried the power Fusion, but wasnt impressed 8)

I usede the Fusion for about a year but my problem with it is the cost of the blades. I count myself among the M5 lovers.

Very interesting! I never thought about the cleaning aspect of the vibrating razor. That makes a lot of sense.

That actually sounded pretty cheap until I did the conversion to Canadian dollars, we're pretty much in the same boat. It costs $14.00 or more for 3 blades here!

Almost makes me want to start waxing...

ALMOST.

Try the Personna M5 if it's available up there. It's less than $6 US and a 4 pack of blades is also less than $6 US.

Someone actually gave me Fusion Power for Christmas.  At first I thought, "What kinda gift is this?!"  lol  But I've been using it and I like it.

On the other topic, I've seen the waxing vids on youtube.  I've said it before and I'll say it again.  I have a pretty high pain tolerance and would do it IF the results lasted a while.  However, my understanding is that it only lasts a week or so at the most depending on how fast your hair grows.

Not only does the hair grow fast, but it would turn my Sly experience upside down.  It's a pleasure to shave the scalp in the morning after showering--it makes me feel extra clean and neat.  And when I've rubbed my baby butt smooth dome w/ the after shave balm--it's like rubbing a smooth warm piece of marble--very satisfying.  Why would I go from that to searing pain--doesn't compute for this bald guy.

I have the same thoughts on this saint. I actually enjoy my shave, and love feeling the smooth dome when I'm done. I have no interest in waxing whatsoever, it's not something I would even think about.

I think the only, ONLY enjoyable thing about a scalp wax would be the unbelievable adrenaline rush, as pulling on your hair (if you have any) is apparently one of the best ways to stimulate your adrenal glands.

Does that mean I'm gonna try it? Hell NO!

I agree with NewYawker & Saint, I like the way my head feels right after a shave, when you're doing the scalp rub looking for missed spots. I think that does the same thing as the hair pulling, just to a lesser degree.

I suspect that the 'blotchiness' I keep running into on the sides of my dome might have something to do with me being a lazy bugger sometimes & letting my hair grow for a few days sometimes. I'm going to try shaving every day and see if that will toughen up my scalp so that doesn't happen anymore...

Man, so much good advice here, I'm glad I joined!

You might want to try a little dab of hydrocortizone creme after shaving and before something like Nivea Extreme---unless it's an allergy or a contact dermatitis that should help tone down the skin reaction.
