Hey everyone, just stumbled on the site yesterday and I'm glad I did. I've been going bald since I was about 18 or 19, and I gotta say it's been a struggle, I think especially because of my age. I know it sounds vain but when it started to go my confidence was shot. For the past few years, I wore a hat on my head almost every time I left the house, sometimes even leaving it on when I went to bed if I was with somebody. I pretty much thought my best looking days where behind me and at 22 I started reminding myself of an old man thinking about the good old days when I had a full head of hair. Pathetic right? Then I started buzzing it-first with a 2 guard, then a 1, then no-guarding, and finally as of last week I'm glad to say I went completely sly. At first it was a shock but it was also a very liberating experience. Since then I've been forcing myself to leave the hat at home and just embrace what I have and I'm loving it.Its good to just be bald instead of to be going bald. Too many things to be thankful for to worry about your hair all the time- I'm an English major so I'll end this with a little Faulkner, "He must teach himself that the basest of all things is to be afraid; and, teaching himself that, forget it forever." Forget going bald and embrace the sly haha. I know I got a long way to go to being fully comfortable with it but I think this site is a step in the right direction. Glad to be here and cheers to all my brothers in slyness.

I too took a lot longer to get to the no guard buzz, where I am comfortable. I can tell you that most people care a lot less than we do about what we look like. In terms of career or personal life, if you are true to yourself and let the "confidence of sly" show you the path, being bald will not negatively affect your life, and may positively enhance it, if you will allow that to happen.
