To go off of ShadowSide's post about In-n-out, what food is your weakness?
Mine is an In-n-out Double Double, Pizza, and Ice Cream.
-
Ice cream, real gelato style, full cream, any flavor just not low fat or yogurt &
Pasta, any sauce just lots of pasta.
Real low gylcemic no no's, but like Homer Simpson says, "Ummmmmm".
-
Piping hot glazed Krispy Kreme donughts.... O0 O0 O0
-
I will say it again, In-n-out is pure evil goodness.
Tyler, ever go to Harry's Hoffbrau off Saratoga or the one in Redwood city?
-
Piping hot glazed Krispy Kreme donughts.... O0 O0 O0
The problem with hot glazing KK donuts is that as soon as it makes contact with your mouth it literally vaporizes so you end up downing 4,5 or even *cough*12*cough* to reach satiety.....now that's just pure evil >:D
Dunkin' Donuts, now thats an American Landmark. :@`
-
CINNABON
-
Tyler, ever go to Harry's Hoffbrau off Saratoga or the one in Redwood city?

-
I've never met a macaroni and cheese I didn't like. Homemade or out of a box, doesn't matter.
And I have to agree with a couple of the other guys: CHEESE! I love any type or variety.
-
I'm a cook and a food enthusiast. I used to love to cook just for fun. I'd have people over, just so i could try something new out on them.
In the last several years as I have taken more and more repetitive cooking jobs (places with smaller menus and less variety) like pool halls and bars I have basically become a straight up short order cook. The food I am preparing at these places, while quite tasty is rarely healthy. They are bar food, comfort food, fried food. Big nasty burgers & fries, cheesy pastas, cottage pies, chili, etc... and don't even get me started on the various deep fried things. It doesn't take very long for the free "shift meal" on work days to become a monotonous and and boring thing.
The longer I do these kinds of jobs the less I want to cook for myself on a day to day basis. Add to that the fact that I get off work at 3am and the ease and convenience of fast food and you have a "recipe" for dietary disaster.
I hit a drive thru about 4 times a week on average (which didn't have much visible effect at 25, but now at 35...ugh). And the sad part is, I have really come to like (and sometimes even prefer) the fast food (to home cooking). And as a result have put on about 40lbs. in the last 3 years, all in the gut.
oh yeah, and I am Ice Creams Bitch. Ben & Jerry's, Haagen Daas, Bryers... man o man. But mostly Cold Stone Creamery, sweet creamy jesus, it owns me.... I am so weak.
-
Oh good lord....
Cheese, real mexican food, tex-mex, burgers, Mountain Dew (my crack and party drink) and beef.
The Mrs. and I are the same way in that if you put beef and cheese in front of us, we drool everywhere and shivver before eating it. haha. :px
-
Reese Cup is my junk food weakness...
Pizza is my main weakness....
Pepsi...Fountain Pepsi..not bottled or can...
-
I can eat just about anything and not gain weight. I could OD on TexMex, Reese Cups, Little Debbies (any kind...but especially Cherry Cordials) and anything with cheese.
-

I don't seem to gain any weight, about 165 pounds or so.

Vanilla Ice Cream is a good alternative.
Did I mention my favorite is Vanilla?
-
oh yeah, and I am Ice Creams Bitch. Ben & Jerry's, Haagen Daas, Bryers... man o man. But mostly Cold Stone Creamery, sweet creamy jesus, it owns me.... I am so weak.
;D :*)) ;D :*))
Domino's makes a pizza called the Brooklyn. It has all of the 4 main food groups represented: Crust, Sauce, Cheese, and Grease. That is my favorite. The box is always saturated with molten lard by the time I get it home. Yummmmm! No, I do not share.

Yes 24/7 Only closed on Christmas and Thanksgiving. It is the very best place for after the bar / hangover prevention, :)
Yep, I've visited a few in Austin, TX and Grapevine, TX for that exact reason.
-
I don't have many foods that I crave but I do crave potato chips from time to time.
-
Oh man, it has to be chips (any kind), especially Tostados with Mexican Food. The hotter the dipping sauce the better.
Secondly, I would have to say Hart's fried chicken. I could do it every day of the week.
-
Chocolat !!!
-
Shrimp----any any form, any way cooked-boiled-fried-bbq'd- roasted-baked-any way a shrimp is not raw, it SHALL be eaten at my house..........of course, gotta have the boiled potatoes, boiled corn, boiled muhrooms, etc....then about 10,000 calories worth of beer.
-
Chocolate for sure, now I eat it in diet energy bars, thats about all I see of it any more.
-
I love to eat hot and spicy food specially fast food. But i quit that kind of foods from last two years because of my health problem:( i really missed but health is wealth that's why i manage my food activities now.So anyone eat that kind of food take a one bite from me;)
-
Spicy food and curries are my weakness. I am not a sweet tooth, but rather a savory man. Sometimes I will literally crave a nice hot spicy curry and I will impulsively buy or make one to satisfy the crave.
The city where I live, Durban, is the highest population of Indian people outside of India. The Indian cuisine attracted me about 20 years ago and has largely fueled my weakness towards anything hot, tasty and spicy.
Dishes like Briyani (a rice, lentil, potato and meat dish), Samoosa’s, “Bunny Chows” (a quarter or half a loaf of bread filled with curried meat) “Chilly bites”, Tandori Chicken and the likes of are some of my favorite food. Not very good for the cholesterol levels, but hey, it would not be a “weakness” if I could resist.
Then there is the famous “Nando’s” Chicken here. A Portuguese style peri peri marinated and flame grilled chicken served with chips and a Portuguese roll. This is absolutely delicious chicken.
Spicy food is brilliant “comfort food” as the heat from the hot chilies gets the old endorphins working and gives you a sense of pleasure somewaht different to non spicy food.
-
Yeah me too -i love spicy food and fish also i don't really suffer for chocolate and sweets -I can live without them ...o wait my blood sugar is low so really i can't :D
-
Starbucks Frappucinos....But I save money by buying them inn bulk at Sam's Club....But if it has to be a hard food, Buffalo wings with ranch dressing wins that by a landslide...
-
Pizza... I could eat it every damn day. :@`
-
Pepperoni pizza.
-
Pizza Napolitana-yum !!!
-
Beer ;) But if we're talking non-liquid food it would have to be freshly baked bread - I could eat that until I nearly explode.
-
I have 3 -- anything chocolate, ice cream, and my all-time favorite -- Peanut Butter on Ritz Crackers. I just stand at the counter with the Ritz cracker box, the peanut butter jar (Crunchy preferably, smooth is OK), and the gallon of milk. No wonder it's taking me so long to lose weight!
-
I have many but I hate it when a co-worker brings 3 boxes of piping hot glazed donuts from Krispy Kreme. I can control myself but I have to atleast have one. Don't U hate it when U have a co-worker who just takes half of a donut? :/O Man... that irritates me. >:( ;)
WARHAWK O0
-
Another unusual craving that I have -- about once or twice a year I will get a craving for a Big Mac. Need to go out immediately and get one, then I'm good again for another six months or so.
-
Don't U hate it when U have a co-worker who just takes half of a donut? :/O Man... that irritates me. >:( ;)
You're not alone. There's a few of those types in my office. I can't stand that sh*t... Just take the whole thing!! >:(
-

Yes, the wasted half doughnut.
My colleague is a fellow baldie and fellow cyclist. Looking after our wastelines, we share a doughnut.
What a pair of self righteous sly guys...

I can definitely relate with the half-donut issue....but a close second would have to be canned drinks...This was a big problem in my house when I was married....people would come and drink half of a drink and then put the unfinished drink back in the icebox....drink would spoil and then when you had multiple unfinished drinks, you couldn't tell who had what....that crap made me pull my (remaining) hair out. If you can't finish the canned drink, either share it or don't open it at all!
-
Cheesecake, lobster, cookies (any cookie)
-
Sushi, chocolate chip cookies, spinach dip.
-
Chocolate covered raisins.
-
Food weaknesses... hrmm anything spicy is my biggest weakness (Tell me it is too spicy and I will just have to prove you wrong :*)) ), then the list would look like this: cheesecake, creamy pastas, KFC, cabana and chips (you guys would call them crisps).
-
Pizza, chocolate, crisps, good bread (thankfully there's precious little of that in these parts!)
-
Chocolate covered raisins.
This is a big one for me, too. Especially if it's gourmet chocolate. I'll devour a whole bag or container or whatever, no problem. )-m
-
Guacamole and the blue, low-carb monsters.
-
Once in a while I get a craving for curry.
-
I'm gonna jump on the bandwagon and say basically anything spicy, curry or Mexican especially. Sweets wise, I can eat a whole mango in one go, and I LOVE anything Reese's
-
Dominos Pizza. Might meaty! / Red Thai curry.
-
I love a good Thai red curry
-
Hot n Spicy cheese its I cannot buy them
Thin mints I'll eat the whole box
-
OK, I'm in .... GRITS. Don't knock 'em if you haven't tried them, and don't knock 'em if you haven't tried them several ways. "Plain" is an acquired taste. But they provide a great foundation to build on. Last night ... small cakes of grits with cheese and chives, fried.
Some American Southern foods are really exquisite.
Though, Central Florida is a bit too far south to be really "Southern."
If you are confused now, you don't live in "The South."
-
I have to ask, what are grits?
-
Grits are very polarizing - you either like 'em or you don't.
Grits (also sometimes called sofkee or sofkey from the Muskogee word) are a food of Native American origin common in the Southern United States and mainly eaten at breakfast. They consist of coarsely ground corn, or sometimes alkali-treated corn (hominy). Grits are similar to other thick maize-based porridges from around the world, such as polenta, or the thinner farina.
They may be served with grated cheese, butter, sausage or country ham red-eye gravy. Grits have also been known to be served with fish such as fried catfish or salmon croquettes. Shrimp and grits is considered a breakfast delicacy in the Low Country of coastal South Carolina and Georgia. Another popular variant is Charleston-style grits, where the grits are boiled in milk, instead of water, to give them a creamy consistency.
Grits can also be fried in a pan or molded to create a firm block; the resulting block can be cut with a knife or wire, and the slices fried in a fat such as vegetable oil, butter, or bacon grease. The word "grits" derives from the Old English word "grytt," meaning coarse meal. This word originally referred to wheat and other porridges now known as groats in parts of the U.K., maize being unknown in Europe in the Middle Ages. The word "grits" is one of the few words that may properly be used as either singular or plural in writing or speech and can be used with a singular or plural verb.
-
Hmm, interesting FrontierGuy...
I enjoy learning about different foods around the world...
:)
-
FrontierGuy, sure knows about grits and said a mouthful...I've been eatin' then ever since I bit down on Mama. Back years ago they came from the mill in a much coarser grind than now...took longer to cook but they were, slap your Grandma good. Go to a country grocery store and see if'n you can find, "Coarse Ground Grits". O0
-
I may not be from the U.S (although I lived in Detroit as a kid) but I love grits, such a heartwarming food.
-
Toast

Guys....just go ahead and mess up my diet, why dontcha ;D
-
Guys....just go ahead and mess up my diet, why dontcha ;D
I don't recall anyone mentioning beignets ... fresh out of the fryer with a light dusting of powdered sugar.
Perhaps that wasn't the most "diet friendly" remark I could have made. Sorry SlySirHarry.

;D ;D It's all good FrontierGuy....seems like out of towners appreciate our foods more than we do....I guess when you can get something anytime you want, it loses some of its appeal....(sex being the exception >:D >:D)

Ain't that the truth. So many places claim their gumbo is "award winning" and "just like you'd get" and "tastes like home" ... but they're not.
Gumbo is probably the single item I miss the most after a (far too infrequent) visit to LA.

You don't burn the roux and add the file after cooking, right Harry?
(that's what my old g/f from Lafayette always told me)

I had an early morning layover at Newark A/P and they looked so damn good I bought one for breakfast...indeed a Stromboli qualifies as a, "Weakness".

Chili - I've loved the stuff since I was a kid!
-
Chili - I've loved the stuff since I was a kid!
npsbg I have to agree chili is great especially with the Autumn and winter season creeping up on us,nothing beats a good bowl while watching the games.
I just made a big batch of vegetarian chili this past Friday for that get together that I was venting about on Saturdays post.Used the Morning Star crumbles as my meat and it was a Hit everyone thought it was real meat. O0

Pizza and hot dogs are my weaknesses.
-
Pizza and hot dogs are my weaknesses.
I have to agree - these are my weaknesses, too! A hot dog and a cold beer make a feast on a warm summer afternoon.
-
Dried/cured meat of any kind, spicy biltong is amazing!
-
I am majorly weak when it comes to liquid calories... soft drinks and beer.
Otherwise, I eat pretty well. It's the drinking that gets me >:(
-
Cheese. Any kind. I think it is a Welsh thing - everyone I have ever known with Welsh ethnicity LOVES cheese. Especially Colby, Monterey Jack, Cheddar, Mozzarella, Provolone . . . er, I think I need a snack. Gotta run.
-
I like blue Stilton and a few grapes
-
That will work; there is also a really good Irish blue cheese called Cashel blue that will keep up with Stilton.
-
As with most American males, cold left over food for breakfast always gets my attention. Cold pizza, cold egg rolls, cold fried chicken, cold refried beans, cold anything casserole will do something woderful to my salivary glands. Somehow, in the morning, warm, oozing food such as oatmeal or soft scrambled eggs is about as appealing as sardines on waffles.....Of course when I was growing up in South Africa, it was cold lobster or prawns peri peri or any really tongue searing curry. Same idea, different contient.

Warmed over pizza is the breakfast of champions! )-m

I love spicy!! Mostly Mexican food, but the calories are HUGE!! My mom gave me some good advise....Chicken Enchiladas with lots of jalapenos! On days we ride long distances we usually have Mexican for the high carb count and then go knock off 25-50+ miles, I get the best of both worlds....but no more Chimichangas (sp?) :(
Cheers,
Ty
-
Two biggies for me are pizza, and burgers.
-
oh ya.....totally agree.....
Two biggies for me are pizza, and burgers.
-
Beer and Rocky Mountain Oysters in beer batter. UUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMMM Great Stuff.
-
Chinese!
-
Does beer qualify in this?
-
This time of the year it probably would be pumpkin pie.
-
Ooooh, can't say no to a good pumpkin pie )-m
-
Does beer qualify in this?
That's a weakness? ???
-
Pepsi, been drinking since I could walk and barely talk I don't think I can stop...
Always ways to work around your weaknesses though I couldn't quit the pop but I could the weight.
-
I have too many food weaknesses to list, but I cannot resist chocolate chip cookies. I can eat them any time of the day or night. Many years ago there was a television commercial that said "there's always room for JELLO!" For me, just substitute "chocolate chip cookies" for JELLO.
-
Right now everything!
I'm in the middle of making weight and dropped 8kg in 6 weeks with 2 more to go.
So yeah again...everything! :D
If I can choose which food I'll destroy first after the job is done I go with chocolate cake (Sachertorte) followed by a nice and spicy pizza and some beers! ;D
Rob
-
Well cheers everyone, at least for the Sly Bald Guys in the States, tomorrow is a calorie free day to pig out. Nothing you eat on Thanksgiving has any fat or calories that matter. O0 See you at the banquet!
-
Thanksgiving is one of my favorites - and it's nice to know that all that food is calorie-free! Happy Thanksgiving to all!
-
Pumpkin pie, cheese cake and chinese food. Especially the first two. That is why I do not get them too often. I could literally eat the whole pie/cake in one day if i wanted to.
-
Pizza..... And beer!
-
Peperoni pizza. Or a big mac.
-
A big greasy cheeseburger with onion large thick slice, home made FF. Fried peanut butter , banana sandwich's. :*)) O0
-
Mine has to be sweets and anything chocolate. Being from New England in summer it is Ice Cream for sure.
-
Pizza..... And beer!
There is nothing better then a steaming hot pizza and a frosty beer!
