Title: New baldy from Luxembourg, Europe
Post by: rrohde on November 30, 2009, 05:23:15 AM
Hi guys,

Two days ago I decided I wanted to go bald and just went for it. Well, this was after a hair-dying accident that left my already short hair in patches of various colors. Don't ask - but my wife "messed it up". :)

Anyway, that little incident was the reason to finally go all the way and shave my head. I started with an electric clipper then used my Wilkinson Quattro to finish it off.

Guess what, guys - this for me was an enormously liberating experience! I don't know how else to say it. I haven't felt that good about myself in ages, but I cannot put my finger on it what exactly it is, but I just feel more confident than ever before. Guess I was never really happy with my hair  to begin with (thus the gone-wrong experiment with hair color I mentioned earlier).

And now, with no hair, I feel that I am finally where I wanted to be in the looks department. Did any of you feel the same way regarding feelings of liberation? lol

One thing's for sure - this look is here to stay! :)

Cheers,
Rainer

Welcome to the Forum RR! The feeling of freedom is one of the many benefits we talk about when discussing shaving your head.

Congrats on that newly found confidence!

Welcome, and the feeling has been shared by most guys here, including me--get a little bit of it every morning when I clean up my scalp too O0

Welcome to our group of fantastic bald men.  I too had hair that I didn't like.  Like you, I solved that problem and I am loving the freedom.

Thanks guys! :)

And - just a quick question for you all: Do any of you guys use hair-removal creme for a smooth scalp? If so, which kind? What are some pro and cons in doing so? Just wondering how you guys combat the stubble.

Rainer, don't use the hair removal cream. It will eat you scalp.  I bought some and did a test patch.  Burned like the dickens and left a red irratated spot for days.  Stubble is a constant problem for us but the constant shaving will become like a spiritual ritual.
