Title: Stupid missed opportunity
Post by: SultanofSwing86 on November 20, 2009, 02:11:06 PM
Hi guys

Just wanted to relieve some frustration. I'm now kicking myself for missing an opportunity. After work today I spent 1 hour talking to a girl at work. I alreay know what some will say, it's messy to date coworkers, but she is not working with me as she is in another lab, but in the same department. Not sure if this still comes under akward if it doesn't work out territory?
Anyhow I really like her and several times this week we have spoken for extended periods of time. I feel a bit stupid as I should have made a move today as it is a Friday and I could have asked to go for a drink at work.
I think she is interested, as to me she seems to show the signs. There is still a niggly part of me that is concerned that how can she like me even though I'm bald at age 23. I know I shouldn't even think about this and that women like confidence but it is just a niggling feeling. I am even suprised at myself to think this way as recently I have felt more comfortable than ever with my appearance.
Anyhow I frustration partly relieved for now. But I guess I should make my move sooner rather than later.

I agree with Timmay ( I can't believe I just admitted that).

It sounds like it's your move to make.

Never heard of the words "niggly" or "niggling".

Well, it's Friday night...I might try niggling The Lovely Mrs. Schro after the kids go to sleep.  O0

I think that would be canoodleing (the polite word for it)  :*))  Niggling is something different altogether.

OK here's what you have to do.......

1)Grab one of your niggles very firmly
2) Walk quickly to your bathroom
3) Grab the toilet seat firmly and open it
4) Quickly toss the niggle into the toilet and slam the lid shut
5) Quickly flush the toilet

You will now find that since you have disposed of one niggle, all niggles are gone.

Move on with your newly "niggleless" life.........

Niggles out = confidence in..........

Enjoy your new life my young Friend.........

I was'nt expecting niggling to stir quite as much as it has. I guess its just a british thing to use this word. My meaning was #2. Basically I need to let it go and throw it away, it should be a none-issue.

Mrs Schro might not enjoy the odd late night niggle, I'm not even sure what that would mean  :-\

Anyhow, you guys have confirmed for me that I should just suck it up and go for it. At the end of the day I can way up the effort it takes to try, against never going for it and always regretting, so next week I start a fresh and  try and prevent a missed opportunity.

I love learning new words from you Brits!  I would just shrug it off and take it as a lesson for next time.  There's an old latin saying.  Fortune Favors the Bold!

Hi guys

So it seems I have rectified my mistake. So I now have a date on Saturday. Fortune really does favour the bold. I think it is always better to just go for the thing than spending too much time thinking about why you should not.

So wish me luck.....

I went through that dude n screwed it up man. Beat myself up over a co worker for months...thought she was into me but wasn't sure. Then she left. Found out recently that she was totally friggin nuts about me. were both involved now. But she informed me that if i would of made any sort of move she'd been all over me. Moral of the story: pull your kiwis outta your throat and go for it man! you only live once. Make us proud son!

You're a nice looking guy.  Your approach should be top-notch.  I wouldn't worry.  You have your teeth, legs and everything else.
