I think I have seen this topic covered before but not sure. I decided to shave my eyebrows tonight. I was offered some cash by my boss awhile back to shave them off but turned it down. Ever since then I have been thinking about doing it. Today as I was putting on the blue makeup for my Halloween costume I wished I would have shaved them, they got in the way and didnt look right.
Normally I keep them at a #1 on my beard trimmers, just buzz them down weekly. Tonight I used the hair clippers with no guard but on the longer setting (the one with the lever thing) and it didnt look much different than the #1 so I went down to the shortest setting on the hair clippers and it still didnt look that different to me so I grabbed the beard trimmers and used them with no guard. There was a difference but in a good way (with a #1 my brows look thicker towards the middle and thinner on the ends). So they were now even looking but I figured I already went this far so I grabbed the headslick and Fusion and shaved it smooth. Now there was something different! At first I was thinking "Crap what have I done!" then after a few minutes of staring at myself in the mirror I got used to it and kinda like it.
Even if I dont keep them smooth I might keep them at a no guard buzz.
Who else here has shaved their eyebrows? Would you do it again?

That's not my gig Dude but it's your head!!!
-
The problem with shaving brows is that those hairs are slow growing and only get to a length of 1/2" or so during their entire growing stage. It's not like a shaving your head where you will regrow to a buzzcut in a week. Eyebrows probably take f-o-r-e-v-e-r to grow back out. Eyebrows also have some function in that they help keep sweat from rolling down into your eyes.
I wish I could grow decent eyebrows. Mine are pathetic! I get the feeling that when I'm old I'm going to have to draw them on like an old woman!

I can see it now....... Rusty, 80 year old Metro-Sexual!!! :*))

Shave the brows? Hell no! I just completed transplants to have some. BTW it's the only transplant I would ever consider. As it is, I have about a 2 inch scar on the nape of my neck from it.

rusty is right on eyebrow's having a usefull job to do.
i finished a viral treatment and lost all my body hair for a couple of years
and i was always getting sweat in my eyes and yes it stung.
i wore a bandana for a year till they grew back.

Really? I'd like to hear the details on that. I'm not kidding in that I might have to draw them on. I think they get thinner in time and I noticed recently that my mom's are nearly gone. I really might be an 80 year old metrosexual if I'm drawing on a pair of eyebrows!
Just another warning for Mike. I think that since we like shaving our scalp that the "more is better" philosophy might come into play and cause you to want to shave off other stuff. It's your head, but people need to understand that it takes a long time for these very slow growing hairs to regrow a set of brows.

Not for me! I have to keep mine trimmed and in check or I'd have a wooly unibrow, but shave them off? Nope.
-
Well I have gotten many funny looks but oh well. I am hoping it will grow back in time. I buzz them down weekly because they grow fast and crazy. If I didnt they would be super bushy and connected.

Dude...before they grow back..show a pic of them shaved off..no way to say if it looks good on you...when I was slick bald I always wondered how I would look with them shaved off!
Good for you bro..mark that off your list of "what if's"! ;)
Post a pic though!

Agree with Andre.
You only have one life, don't leave it with a bunch of what-ifs. Now you know!

That is what I have been saying alot lately. When I get invited to do something I have been doing it, you only live once and when in Rome...
I will work on getting a pic, my camera is broke (fell into a fish tank) but a friend took a couple pics today and said she will send them to me so when she does I'll post them here. I think I look good, well atfirst I looked like I got beat up but now I am used to it. No bad comments today, just a couple chuckles. A customer came in today that shaves his by choice and he looked cool, another one shaved them off 'on accident' (what he told everyone) but really wanted to try it out and he said a couple of his bald friends do it already (both customers were slick bald). So it seems kinda popular in a way around here.

Don't and haven't ever "shaved" them, but since I don't go to a barber any more who would keep them trim, I buzz them to a 3 about once a month. The ones that take off and grow generally are white, my brows are otherwise pretty much dark brown.

I hate hair. Been shaving my face, head and brows for years. Nooo problem.
-
whatever makes u happy Lophura.
-
I actaully considered shaving my eyebrows first, because I'm sure it would lok pretty wild, but never followed through. Can't wait to see the pic, you might just convince me, Lophura!
-
I did it once, they grew back just fine.
-
Hey Mike, where's this pic that you promised us? ;D

Except for Andy Rooney. :px

Mine grew back pretty quick and I have already buzzed them back to a managable length twice. I asked about the pic and she said it got deleted.
