Title: Bald is the best
Post by: Tedd10 on October 04, 2009, 07:31:33 PM
Just curious as to what made many of you guys choose to go sly?

One night before I went to bed, I contemplated going bald and decided that the next morning when I woke up I was going to the store and buying supplies.  So that Saturday mornig, I snuck out the house around 930 ran down to wal-mart and bought a razor, shaving cream, and a great electric shaving kit.  Took me a while to do it since it was my first time.  Came downstairs and completely surprised all of my family! They love it, but my mom thinks  I look to much like my father now (they're divorced, so you know how that goes) ;). So now I have been bald for about a month and never going back! I love my smooth head! Stay Sly boys!

I first went sly following some over enthusiastic application of nair to remove my neck hair ! I had to shave everything off to counteract a huge bald patch at the back of my head, but the hair grew back.  Skip forward a few months and as it was warm weather I decided to shave my head again, but my I let my hair grow back.  Skip forward again to a December evening last year when I found this forum, I shaved my head that night and haven't looked back since.  I love being sly and don't see any reason to go back to having my hair.

Ted-   Looks great Dude!

Mother nature gave me a push by applying MPB to my head...... but it was a pretty quick and easay decision for me.

Receeding hairlines are no fun, had one myself before I shaved it off... and I'm only 17! No 17 year old should sport that look.  I think they say ytou inherit your mother's father's hair line and  I surely did. Now I am bald as he is also, but he chooses to keep some on the sides. The grandpa look, I'll have to persuade him to join the brotherhood :)

Ted, you wear it well!  I decided that it was time to do it as I was going to be camping for two weeks and didn't want crusty hair.  I never have grown it back since - mostly because I'm now losing my hair.

Welcome to the club.

I lasted until I was 40ish then the hairline kept receding. Less than a year ago I finally got up the courage and haven't looked back once. I doubt I'll ever grow back my Bozo Ring now.

I'll always play the bozo though.....lol   (**!

Who can argue with that? I went SLY almost 5 years ago in support of my son while he was having chemo. In that time I have gone no more than a day or two without shaving, with the exception of last October when I took a softball upside the melon. Too sore to shave for about two weeks. After that I was back in full swing and lovin it.

Welcome to the fold, Tedd

Ted, it looks cool!
I started losing my hair at 18, and i buzzed it down to a no.1, then went sly not long after.
people who I've met since being sly have said they can't imagine me with hair, one guy even said i'd look silly with hair.
I took that as a massive compliment!

I went Bald By Choice two months ago after getting my usuall #1 Bald Fade.  I was looking in the mirror and said that it was time to rid myself of the rest of the fuzz on my head.  I got out the Mach 3 shaved the rest and have keep it shaved since.

I have a full head of hair, but can't imagine letting it grow back.  I have had some mild resistance, mostly from family but nothing that would deter me from keeping the best hair cut I have ever had.
