Always have breakfast. With getting up at 4:30 and no lunch till noon, I would never make it through my morning classes without the needed energy. It is something I push with my students too. You can always tell the ones who did not have a good breakfast by there classroom performance. We even keep items in our cabinet for those students who didn't get breakfast before leaving home.

I always have breakfast. Coffee (2 - 4 cups) and either toast w/peanut butter (light) or an egg white omelet.
-
Everyday!!!!!
-
I never miss breakfast. Normally have a whole wheat bagel with peanut butter or cream cheese and 3 cups of coffee.
-
I'm a mess without breakfast. I usaully eat a healthy parfait that I make myself and it tastes great. I also sometimes have low fat soup which is pretty good too (except today when I bought disgusting soup!
-
I feel Lousy without breakfast. I too have students!!! They are not very productive with out breakfast. Sometimes I make a standard egg sandwich and take it along for the ride to work. (30 minute commute)
-
Breakfast is a must have for me. Gotta have grits with breakfast.
-
Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper.
-
Absolutely, weekdays, oatmeal--not instant--, fruit, oj, coffee & vitiamin supps. Weekends, an omelet, or other eggs, coffee fruit. and the other day a smoothie from the gym.
-
Hate to go against the grain, except when shaving my head, but I hardly ever eat breakfast...compromise I make due to my longer commute. :(
-

My breakfast routine is pretty similar.
I think it helps to have a routine--my mind at that hour in the morning, even after working out--isn't into creating a "new" breakfast experience everyday. :D :D :D
-
Scrapple and eggs, whole wheat toast with orange marmalade, 2 cups of coffee and a large glass of ice cold milk.
-
I'm a night worker for the most part, so breakfast isn't all that important to my daily life. But with football season upon me I'm working a lot of "early" weekends *early being 11 AM for me*, so I try to get some sausage biscuits from McD's on the way in. When I really want to treat myself, I do bacon or sausage, pancakes or waffles, and scrambled eggs at home.
-
Oatmeal and coffee Monday through Friday...Bacon, Cheese Omlete with toast on weekends..and coffee
-
YES--McDonalds drive through.........
Or two wennies and a big chocolate milk at the local convenience store...
No time too sit down and enjoy anything.........
Go Go Go

For me, it's hit or miss. I'm not a big eater. I eat because I have to, not because I want it. Sometimes one meal a day is enough.
And I don't care what I eat. I try to keep it healthy, but food isn't that important.

This was too good to pass up. New Orleans is known for its restaurants and cooking, well, one day really soon, I've got to try this breakfast--I don't think a guy should eat this everyday, but once in a while, why not?

Yogurt with Kashi Honey Almond Flax cereal during the week about mid-morning but coffee early and often before.
-
Egg whites and wheat toast most mornings, sometimes with some Canadian bacon.

Camelia Grill was my favorite when in NO. My daily routine is a banana, shredded wheat and yogurt with a Kashi granola bar midway to lunch.
-
I usually start the day with a large glass (usually from the freezer) of very cold chocolate malted milk that I blend myself and a bowl (also from the freezer) of Capn' Crunch with Crunchberries. PURE HEAVEN!.

Breakfast is critical for me, without it my blood sugar and appetite is wrecked. I'm a big advocate of yogurt and i'm not talking about that sissy dannon stuff, I usually have a bowl ( or a serving cup ) of greek strained yogurt, its full of probiotics and protein and you can find at any specialty grocery store like whole foods or around here we have mollie stone's. Sometimes I throw In a cliff bar or a whole grain english muffin with either natural peanut butter or almond butter but I've been a kick from this company called the peanut butter company www.http://www.ilovepeanutbutter.com/ and it's so freakin good. I also eat alot of eggs and I really like the omega-3 rich eggs, I usually have about 4 whole eggs 3-4 days a week and once in awhile I'll sneak in some corn beef and hash because Its one of my favorite meals period.

I forgot to add Capn' Crunch, my absolute favorite cereal of all time, it reminds of being 7 again and watching saturday morning cartoons :@`

You can return that to the present. Although the original owner decided to hang it up after Katrina, a new owner worked and worked on him until he sold it to him. It's fully restored, and except for Harry, RIP, it's the same, rejoining the ranks of the great eating places of NO>

Mmmmm, just made a bunch of breakfast tacos. Yum.

O0 Glad to hear that. I'll take breakfast at the Camelia over Brennan's any day of the week! I did Brennan's once - nothing special except the $$$$.

I couldn't agree more about Brennan's, and any of the Brennan family "chain." None of the family, except Dickie, to my knowledge knows one end of a fry pan from the other. They target the tourist, not the natives, although a couple of years before the storm, Commander's did send out a "private" number for reservations by locals. Once before that notice when some relatives were in town and nothing would do but Commander's, I called for 7p resesrvations, and they said the earliest was 8:30p--so I took it bc of the insistence of the relatives. Then, when they asked for a 'local" phone, they said, "What hotel is that?" "No hotel," said I, "that's my home just a few blocks from you." Then it was, "Let me check, I think we may have a table at 7p." Nice, but that's not the way to treat the public. The food is mediocre when compared to our other "white table cloth" restaurants. And Emeril has gone totally tourista too, he's rarely at his restaurants, the food is pedestrian, and over priced. He was the first to ask 6 times the retail price for wines--really a rip off.
Real New Orleans food is all over the place, but they don't advertise generally to the tourist, they serve in the leasurely way we like to eat--2 hours or more isn't unusual for dinner--and cook it seasoned the real way, some spicey some sophisticated, all delicious. Everything isn't meant to have high spice "heat" but when it's done right, it's a party in the mouth.

YUM. I'll be right over!
-
I usually have a big bowl of porridge with skim milk and brown sugar and a litre of water to wash it down.
Haven't had Count Chocula in a long time though...

Breakfast really is the most important meal of the day. It's very name tells you its purpose: it's to BREAK a FAST. Your body has probably gone at least 7 hours without food and possibly upwards of 10 since people usually don't eat the second before they go to sleep and the second after they wake up. Even though you're asleep your body is still doing a lot of things. It needs food after that sleep! Carbohydrates are good because they are a quick and easy source of energy.
As for the food itself, it bugs me how in the morning the only food you can get from a restaurant is "breakfast" food. Aside from cereal, I'm not much of a fan. It really drove me nuts when I would get off a red-eye flight and wanted some food and the only things available are biscuits and eggs. I still remember that time after a flight were I held off until I got on the road and stopped in a minimarket (WaWa anyone?) and they would actually make real and fresh subs anytime! Real food in the morning? What a concept!

I didn't think they even still made that stuff until I saw it in Target a few weeks ago, along with Frankenberry and Booberry. Someone told me that they bring it out every year around Halloween.

Count Chocola!! WOW, I'm looking out for that! It was a childhood favorite!
