I don't think I want to try this on my own. :) But damn! That is a lot of hair to remove with just a straight razor!

So the growing out experiment is over, then?

That's nuts the way that hair just falls away like it's made out of butter and the blade is a hot knife. How can that even happen? I guess that's skill!

You'd really have to trust the barber, I mean really trust him. Just think of the damage that blade could do in anything other than an ultimately trained and steady hand :(.

Tell me about it. I swear I saw hair falling away before the blade could get to it. I mean, I have a really sharp edge on my straight razor from using a 4000/8000 grit water stone and stropping. But that was nuts! It was like it had an invisible light saber edge. I would think you would have to repair the edge periodically during a shave like that.
If you listen closely, you can hear the popping sound as the hairs fly away.

Looks like he strops it 3 or 4 times during the shave. Did y'all notice the little television he had set up so his customer could watch.?

I went into a barbershop once for a shave, with about about six days' worth of growth. I was a little nervous when he started lathering me up and started shaving without buzzing the hair off first. A dry shave like in this clip? I don't think I'd let anybody do that to me.
