I'm not at all prone to injuries or sickness, but today was crazy. While trimming a tree, and unknowingly disturbing a bee's nest, I was swarmed by bees. I was stung a few times but they were swarming my head which sent me running. Being distracted I tripped over the curb and fell head-first into my driveway. With blood gushing out of my nose, glasses nowhere to be found, I got up and wabbled a few feet before my wife came running.
Having severe pain in my side and on my nose my wife rushed me to the hospital. After xrays of my ribs, chest, nose, and hand, and blood work to rule out internal bleeding and liver damage, they sent me home. No broken bones, but man am I ever sore. Scrapes on my arm, knee and hand ... Tomorrow morning is likely to be worse ...
Getting lots of pressure to take a sick day, but I'm hoping to drag myself into work ....

Goodness, what a day! Glad you're OK. Take it easy and get some rest!
-
Wow that really is quite a day! Glad to hear you're ok.
-
Yow! Sorry to hear about your day. Take it easy tomorrow -- if you're anything like me, you'll need it.
-
You may never feel it the first 24 hours because of the adrenaline and endorphin rush. It is kinda like working out. It is a day or two later that it really sets in. The bees were unsuccessful in reaching their target, weren't they?
Glad to hear you are ok. Just don't forget that the nest is there.

Dang ... take care
-
Wow, what a day Andrew. Glad it was no worse. You need to BEE careful in the future
-
Wow Andrew ...what a bad day.
Be cautious wth the bee stings too. I was stung a couple of weeks ago while on my motorcycle and the sting site actually became very infected. I've been stung dozens and dozens of times in my life with no problem before this.
My doctor told me that a bee sting getting infected is not uncommon.

Hey guys... Thanks for the well wishes. I can barely move today, so working from home...

Andrew,
I'm sorry to hear about your "bad" day, but I am relieved to hear that you are ok, asside from the bruises maybe!! Just rest up and you'll be ready to go in no time!!
-
OMG that sounds like it hurt--hope you recover quickly. Our second anniversary of sly is coming up and you need to be in shape! O:O
-
WOW, sorry to hear about your injuries. Hope you start to feel much better very soon!
-
Get well soon pal.
-
Get well Andrew, take it easy

Sorry to hear about your encounter with those bees and other injuries that you got. One of the worst places to find bees, hornets and yellow jackets are arial phone line cable insulators that are usually located with in about 3 feet of the telephone poles, but just under the arial cable box you hook the cable terminal line box. It is really no fun finding them 22 feet above the ground and being straped on so you can't get away. :Xo!
Anyway hope you heal up good.

Damn!!!!
Glad you're feeling OK.
No video huh? ;D

No video huh? ;D
I was thinking the same thing but was afraid to say it. :) An easy $10,000 on AFV at the least.
-
Yeah, I've been hearing the video comment a lot. Even the nurse in the ER said that sounds like a cartoon episode. I keep saying that my big Greek nose broke my fall, saving the rest of my body ...

Andrew, good to hear you're ok. That sounded like it could have been a lot worse.
