I weighed 310 on August 24th 2008
I now weigh 258 pounds, my goal is 178 by the end of 2011
I still have red meat twice a week and four beers a week, but i have a glass of red wine with dinner. i do believe in drinking in moderation

i eat lite five days a week, usually two days a week, i do a high protien diet, then two days a week i treat myself to red meat, plus i exercise a lot, i bike to work both ways,

I'm down over 20 LBS myself. I'm almost at 200 and was over 222 five weeks ago. I figured that with my new bald persona I should just finish out the transformation completely and be really happy with myself for a change. My goal is 180.

i lost about 70 in around the last year. down to a 34-35 inch waist and 6ft2 227. been working out for almost 4 years now, up to 4-5 days a week.
pretty damned light on my feet, and much more athletic without having all that extra mass on myself.
the last 30 or so, when you really start to see all the effort coming out, thats the best.

You have the right idea. 14 months to lose the weight, a little at a time. Too many people think they have to lose it right now and starve themselves; then it goes back on and wonder why? It took me 18 months to lose 40 lbs six years ago, but it is still off. Exercise is most important in weight lose as well; do you do anything besides bike? I hope your determination encourages others to lose weight (and keep it off) as well. Keep it up!!!
