I just experience my first earthquake in the Bay Area. We had a 4.2 that happened about 40 miles north of where I live. This isn't the first earthquake I've been in, or the largest, but I did feel it.

This one was just a little one down here. But, the last one I was in was a lot more fun. It was Thanksgiving day and I was at the kitchen table. I had just taken a sip of Crystal Light that my mom gave me and the wall behind her bent to the left. I was thinking "wow, there's something in this," so of course, I took another sip. Once again the wall behind her bent to the left. Now I was just about to ask my mom what she put in it and then the whole house shook. Then we ran for the door jam.

Never been in a quake, sounds like you guys know how to have fun over your way though. Been through a few hurricanes though. Strap a skateboard to your feet and set a kite out in the middle of one of those and your down for some fun...just kidding, don't try that. :/O

I was in the one that hit Atlanta (yes, Atlanta) a few years ago. It was about 5 AM. I heard a loud bang that woke me up. My first thought - Thunder. Then the whole house shook. I fell back asleep once ascertaining the house had not exploded. Assumed it was a gas explosion. Next morning I found out what really happened.
