Hey guys,
This doesn't happen often, but there are times when I'm in a hurry and gouge my head with my Headblade. User error for sure, LOVE my Headblade.
The question is, what's been the best way to stop the bleeding (other than avoid the cut in the first place)? I've used towels, TP, Kleenex, etc.
Any help would be appreciated, while I'm nursing my latest wound.

Every time I use the headblade, I cut myself. Every time. Makes me angry. The headblade is cool, but I make much less mistakes with a mach 3.
Anyway, I stop the bleeding with a styptic pencil. I think that's what you call it. Burns for a sec, but then the bleeding stops. It's a white/chalky looking thing you can buy at your local drug store in the shaving section. You wet the tip and dab it against the cut.

Yep - styptic pencil usually does the trick. Mine was just a couple of bucks at Wal-Mart and lasts forever.
-
You have to watch that pressure on the headblade leadbetter. Keep the pressure on the wheels and slow 'er down. The other bros are right, nothing stops the bleeding like a styptic pencil. I HAVE found that applying the styptic immediately after the cut, instead of waiting until the rinse, that it stops much faster and doesn't leave any kind of scab.

Thanks guys. Yeah, I think it's usually because I'm in a hurry. I'll pick up stypic. ASAP.

With all due repects to my SBG brothers who use the HB, I just must say, I have used it, I own one, and it will remain in the drawer bc my Fusion is just such an easier tool to use. I shaved my face w/ a traditional razor for more years than I care to count, and when it came time to remove the "dead thing" from my scalp, I used my usual tool--no new skills, a new surface was enough thank you very much.
Not that I didn't like the "style" of the HB, in fact I bought one in anticipation of the finishing off of the remainder, the dying mop and I did use it. But when it came to it, Fusion was the real deal, it was just so much better [spelled in Sly terms--baby butt smooth] w/ the Fusion. So I'm as true to my Fusion, as are many of the brothers, as the HB guys are--even though, >:D forgive me here boys, I do get a kind of reaction--let it go at that--when I read the innumerable tales of slices. Never has happened to me, nor can I remember any stories of slices w/ Fusion. Take it as you will, but it's Fusion for me.
NOW, Headslick, that's a different story indeed--w/o question a can not do w/o product. Unfortunately, it's harder to find in the ordinary retail marketing situation. Have they thought about Sam's?

Me too... I've actually thrown mine out -- IMO it's a great idea with poor execution.

I find that my Headblade is ok for ruff shaving, but if I really want no hair or stubble then my Rolling Razor is what I use to finish the job off. Like a straight edge the blades are fixed, not floating. Nothing I have ever shaved with comes close.

Different blades work better for different people. Find the blade that works for you. O0

I was just going to type that as I was scanning through this thread.
Love the HeadBlade and haven't cut myself with it for a long time.....DAMN, I just jinxed it!

Everytime I see these threads, I am reminded how thankful I am that the HB works flawlessly for me - quickest, cheapest, and smoothest shave possible. I wish everyone could have the same experience.

werks fer me too! With the exception of the other day when I jumpedin the shower 10 minutes before I was to be at work and Those damn pesty mosquito bites..I shaved two of them right off. Look at the bright side..No more itching, but the burn..oh the burn when i stuck the styptic pen on it. Does it burn anyone else for a few seconds?? Wouldnt trade my HBsport for nothing.

There is a thought. Headlube with mosquito repellant as well as the sunscreen.

Now there's an idea! Would citronella be safe for human skin?
-
Not sure I would like the smell of citronella head. But if the Avon Skin-so-Soft would work with the headshade... That might just work.

There's an idea, maybe mix a little SSS in with some HeadLube. I'd try that out, but I haven't had to deal with one skeeter all summer, so I wouldn't know if it worked or not.

Same here. Haven't seen the Minnesota state bird hanging around too much this year. Been too cool and dry. At least the 2 inches of rain in the past 2 days is helping to make up for the 9 inch deficit. We will see if that and the higher temps bring out the invasion in the next week or two.
