Headblade Headwash - a sly guy's shampoo. Who would of ever thought a product like this would actually fly? I bought 2 bottles the first time I saw it on the shelves.

Now for the review
Scent
By far the highlight of this product. You get the prominent scent of fresh Granny Smith apples with fleeting hints of cucumber. I couldn't think of a more pleasant smell to wash your head with!

Texture
This product has the same texture and clear color as your familiar shampoo.
Ingredients
Some familiar natural ingredients are:
Glycerine, Willow Bark Extract, Meadowsweet Flower Extract, Sugar Cane, Apple Fruit Extract, Cucumber Fruit Extract, Lemon Fruit Extract.
Some NOT SO familiar ingredients are:
Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate: an anionic surfactant used in many cleaning and hygiene products. SLS is a highly effective surfactant used in any task requiring the removal of oily stains and residues. As such the compound is found in high concentrations in industrial products including engine degreasers, floor cleaners, and car wash soaps. In household products, SLS is used in lower concentrations with toothpastes, shampoos, shaving foams,
Cocamidopropylamine Oxide: a clear to slightly hazy liquid. In cosmetics and personal care products, Cocamidoproylamine Oxide is used in the formulation of shampoos, hair dyes and colors, and other hair products, as well as bath and skin care products.
Cocamidopropyl Betaine: a medium strength surfactant which most often does not irritate skin or mucous membranes. That said, some studies indicate it is an allergen. It also has antiseptic properties, making it suitable for personal sanitary products.
While the natural ingredients are nice, the majority of ingredients in this product resembles nothing more than that of a generic shampoo.
Performance
This product doesn't do anything special; just cleans. I found this formula to be a lot milder on my head than soap. With shampoo however, I couldn't tell a difference. In terms of cleaning, I was not very impressed. I am able to wipe off dirt and oil on my head with a paper towel after a shower while using HeadWash. I can never do that when I use soap or shampoo.
Price and Packaging
At about $9.00 per 8oz bottle, you are spending quite a buck on just glorified shampoo.
Final Thoughts and Gripes
I really don't feel this product does anything worth spending $9.00 for. On top of this, you would have to buy HeadShed as an additional expense for the 'complete preshave experience'. While I really like HeadShed, I don't think HeadWash is worth your hard-earned $$$. Be smart and go Suave.
