Hot towel treatment. There's nothing more luxurious that having a streming hot towel being wrapped around your head and face before a great shave. The Real Shaving Company advertises that it can duplicate that feeling. How well though?

Now for the review
Scent
Clean and masculine. It's quite likeable by all standards. The scent is moderate however, so I'd think twice before combining 'sweeter' smelling products with this. (Hot Six for example)
Texture
This product is a thick paste that squeezes out from the tube. I've found it important to have my head wet before applying the cream. If you head is too dry, the product won't work properly.
Ingredients
The active ingredients are:
Vitamin E, Zinc Oxide & Tea-Tree Leaf.
Only the bare essentials come in this formula. I like this however, because I know there is A LOT of these few ingredients. I become slightly curious when I see more than a dozen different active ingredients in a product. How much of that stuff really is working and how much is just 'filler'?
Performance
Holy Sh!t! I was not expecting this at all! As you rub the cream into your skin, the cream WARMS UP! I'm not kidding! I don't know what ingredient is used for this effect, but it's amazing! Don't be afraid though, as it won't burn you. It's important to remember that you need a wet face (like water dripping off wet) for this cream to spread correctly.
After the initial 'heat', your face begins to warm up on it's own. I like putting a coat of this stuff on right after my shower and let it sit for about 5 minutes as I whip up my cream or soap for the SOTD (shave of the day). While the directions say to rinse the cream off after 5min, I leave the stuff on! It doesn't clog your razor and I think it actually helps the quality of your shave.
The only concern I have with the performance of this product is using it with certain mentholated creams, gels or oils. While there isn't any actual danger; combining the 'heating' effect of the pre-shave with the cooling effect of a highly mentholated shave cream (like Headslick) gives your skin a weird feeling. It's not a bad or painful feeling by any means, but it's something you should be aware of.
Price and Packaging
At around $8-9 a tube, this is slightly in the 'luxury' class. You can find this product along with most of "The Real Shaving Company's" line at Ride-Aid. I bought 2 bottles of this product because my local Rite-Aid had them on sale for 75% off. I couldn't pass up two of these bottles for less than $3 each.
Final Thoughts and Gripes
So this product is a sure shot. Go ahead and induldge in the luxury of a hot towel. Hell, go ahead and fantasize a little bit if you may be so bold! ;D
