First time caller, long time listener here!
I recently realized that in just a few weeks I will have been shaving my head for 10 years. 10 years! I was an adult when I first tried it in '98 so I've been experimenting with it for at least 11. Geeze that really makes me feel old!
There've been a few times in this past decade where I had to stop shaving for about a week, and a few months ago I had to quit for 10 days but I only did so because I had some sort of injury that prevent proper maintenance like a head wound or a severe sunburn.

Geeze, 10 years... Anyway, every time I had to let it grow I really realize that this haircut is more than just a haircut it's almost as if it's a defining aspect of who I am like having arms or legs. I really feel uncomfortable with fuzz on my head anymore, it's like I'm being forced to wear a costume. My hair was probably 1/10" long and it literally felt as long as my hair felt when I kept it at a modest 2"-3" in length. Isn't that amazing? I'm not joking with that, I think once the hairs got long enough that they could touch each other or be affected by wind those long asleep nerves in my hair follicles fired off OMG! messages to my brain like crazy.
Reshaving after a brief delay always made me feel like I was returning to normal.
Well, here's hoping for another decade!
