If you had the most awesome shine on your SLY dome and another dude with a SLY dome walked up to you and asked you how to achieve the same shine, would you tell or would you think he was a nut case and tell him to get lost? Just wondering because a few years ago I saw this SLY dude in a store that had the most awesome shine on his SLY dome. It looked like there was 5 layers of floor wax on his SLY dome, it was truly awesome and I so badly wanted to approach him and ask him how the hell he got his SLY dome to shine so brilliantly. There were two problems however, one, I was sporting a flattop and two, he was with his wife or girl friend. So, what would you have done if some dude with a flat came up to you and asked about your gleaming SLY dome? What would you have done if the dude was also SLY but his SLY dome didn't have a killer shine like your's? Thanks SBG's!

Turn the question around on yourself...Would it bother YOU if someone asked about your head? It wouldn't bother me, so I would assume most of us wouldn't mind. That being said, there are a-holes out there, so make sure and be nice and carry a bat!

It would have probably sparked a lengthy and friendly conversation about shaving. At least if it were me.

I agree with the Bear. I wouldn't have had a problem.

I would take it as a compliment, as most guys on this forum would. As for asking the question to someone else, I don't think most guys would have a problem with it. If you're also sly, just come out and ask. If not, say something like "I used to shave my head but could never get a shine like that. How do you do it?" ...just in case he's unsure about the motives of your question.
Remember that some skin types just naturally have more of a shine. I get a fairly decent shine without doing anything.

I don't care if you ask me, and I'm not shy to ask you! LOL

I almost asked a guy in the store the other day but my niece was acting up and I didn't want to approach him with a crying baby in my arms.

I regularly compliment a fellow sly in the elevator, or the like. I mean I don't run them down on the street, but if given the occasion of course, "Nice haircut!" or "You've got a great barber" something like that. I always get a nice comeback, a laugh and if I run into them again, as I do in the office building, we acknowledge each other.
What I don't do, and want to, is tell some poor guy with a fringe or worse a fringe, island and scattered long hairs, that "It's dead, take it off." Someday though, I probably will. >:D

That's my usual way of acknowleding a fellow baldie. I find bald dudes to be pretty pleasant overall. Yeah, I wouldn't think guys with hair would ask each other about how they get their mops to look a certain way, but bald dudes clearly march to their own drummer and I find them to be much more approachable. It's like people of similar hobbies talking shop (car buffs, golfers, you name it).
I wouldn't be offended and I would hope for the same.

i ran into a dude at a store a few days ago. he had a killer shine goin on. i just laughed and told him i was jealous of that shine! he laughed and we talked a minute. told him about sbg and we went about our own business. that is the typical response. friendly and cordial.

No one ever asks, but I would be all for it if someone did, especially if the dude had hair or MPB. I would feel it my duty to spread the gospel of being sly.

I got asked by a guy one time if I put turtle wax car polish on mine because it shined so much. I took it as a compliment.
On occasions I have sly lawyers appear in my court. If I have never met them before I always say something like " I see we use the same barber." It always gets a smile from everyone - even the non-sly dudes.

That would be well within the dictum of one of my law professors who stated, wisely, that a decision was ". . .within the creative discretion of the artist judge! O0" I have always loved that line.

Just got back from Chicago yesterday. We went to a Sox game on Tuesday, I gave another Sly dude a hi-five when a home run was hit without even thinking about it. The Sox won, it was a great evening! O0
