I already had several arguments with my sisters on the air conditioner. :Xo!
I don't sweat in the house and the air coming from air conditioner is just not pleasant anymore.
Anyone else feeling that way? :popo

Obviously, you are not from the American Deep South .... It has been said, "Railroads opened the West; air conditioners opened the South."
-
I love that feeling!

I'm an air conditioning addict (I'm from the South). My air conditioner comes on in early May and doesn't go off until November.

No.

We have airconditioning here. Gotta have it, especially from about June-September. But technically we have central air..
-
Big fan of air conditioning .... I keep my windows frosted from May until September.
-
Air Conditioning definately on here in South Carolina but not afraid to go outside and sweat a bit. We keep ours on 78 degrees.

CORRECT, you get the prize. Our thermostats automatically go from heat to cool, and the a/c runs every month of the year. From November to March, the heat may go on but only for a while. Cold snaps last three or four days, then even in winter the temps go into the 70's, praise our lucky stars. Heat going out, no big problem, A/C going out--that's big bad times. We have temps of 98 predicted for Tuesday and Wednesday, but remember, add humidity of 70% and above--that's professional grade heat. Twice a day showers are the norm, not an option. It's a wonder to me how anyone was ever born in the deep south in the months of February to June before a/c--it's just too hard not to slip out of bed. >:D If we move slow compared to our Northern brothers and friends, stop by in July and August and learn what real hot weather is. You will slow down, or die.

What is air conditioning? I haven't lived in a home with A/C since 1999. That's why I live where I live. We only need A/C about 1 week a year.
-
I have a 40inch industrial floor drying fan strapped to my living room window. It's all I need, I wouldn't need it if I didn't live on the top floor facing the sun.
-
Heat index was 111 yesterday here in Memphis... I LOVE THE AIR!!!!!

I'd love to live in Northern California, but it would cost me ten times what my power bill is to air condition my house during the summer in the difference of my mortgage. :'(
When I moved to San Francisco in July 1988 I'd never been so cold in the summertime.

Here in Richmond it gets pretty oppressive outside. The heat is berable, its the 70-90% humidity from july to mid september that will stop you in your tracks. If it were up to me though, AC usage would be determined day by day. some days i want to throw the windows up because its nice, but Mrs. Mvmnt loves the constant temperature, no matter what time of day.
Jus' dont seem right ta me. :/O haha
-
Love the a/c... hope Obama won't regulate that too and tell me how cool I can keep it.
-
Perhaps you can get away without an AC in Canada, but not in Austin. It's been over 100 for the last few days.
-
Love the a/c. At home, work, in the car, theater, restaurant...bring it on. It's routinely 100+ degrees here, so can't live without it. At least we can make up for it in the winter with extremely low heating bills.
-
Hair conditioner, don't touch the stuff. . . . I'm bald !
sorry could not leave that one alone ;)

And unlikely to change in the near future. It may "cool down" to 98 over the weekend.
I waited until after dark to take the dogs for their walk, and it still felt like sauna.
Gimme that good old A/C!!!

We need an ICE AGE! i could deal with cold for awhile.

Well, just move to Chicago for the winter.

it would be better for the summer.

104 in Audubon Park yesterday, 1.5 miles from my house, hottest day ever in New Orleans! Streets buckling up, Interstates too. This is the pits, and it's only June, I can't think what August will be like :'(. The a/c in our office building was challenged yesterday, it was getting hot. But cooler temps were on the report this morning, it's going to drop to 93 or 94. Can't wait. At least it was only 85 when I got in my car to go to the gym at 4:30a this morning. I'm using spf 70, that my wife and daughter, red heads--no tan skin--use. Great shine though O0.
-
This is crazy for us as well. It normally doesnt get this hot until middle of July and August. Swimming pools in the area have been reporting between 90-92 degree water. Give me a washcloth and soap ....it would be like taking a bath.

Today's 7-day forecast:

Cold snap coming on Wednesday -- better break out the parka!

ANOTHER vote 4 air conditioning... O0
WARHAWK O0

We live in the Pacific Northwest, and we don't need the AC often, but I like it for those hot days. Went without it last summer, and we survived, but it's much nicer with that little box in the window.
-
I live in the northern Great Plains. Last week was winter, this week it's in the 90's, next week is winter.
Our summers are hot but short - I'll enjoy it while it lasts! :P
-
I live in New England and couldn't like without AC. It was pretty warm sleeping last night so the air went in today!! AHHHHH!!
-
B-Bear, that forecast was actually cooler than what actually happened this week!!
I went jogging today in the afternoon (my only chance to) and I felt like one of those worms you see that got fried to the sidewalk.
-
I know... sheesh! I had some yard work to do today, but after half an hour I was done in.
-
Oh dear GOD!!! 104???? and I thought the 28'C was bad yesterday. I knew it was hot down there in LA, but DAMN!!! Is that normal for there?

Highest temperature ever recorded at Audubon Park. But it has been hot, what that doesn't tell you is the humidity--serious tropical humidity. It's only the end of June, if this portends for the future we're going to have one extremely hot summer--don't bring any sweaters!

ditto.
Gotta love the A.C!

I am from Canada and I need the AC would die if we didn't have it. Just walking from my house to my jeep sweat was rolling down my head.

YES! I'm glad I'm not the only one!
-
I actually broke down tonigth and turned on the downstairs A/C; I did not kick on the one for the second floor nor for the kitchen, but dang the den and downstairs bathroom felt good!!
-
i hate the ac feels like im going to freeze
-
We are having a freaking heatwave - I think it hit 35 C here - so we actually have been using our AC, usually its decorative - Have to agree that the cold wind on the dome can be a wierd feeling
Huge advantage to bald though - quick cool down - put your head under the tap - run cold water for a few seconds - very refreshing - the other sly guy in the office does the same thing - damned easy ... only for the sly
-
It has been around 50F for the drive to work in the morning which really gives you a tingly sensation all down your spine for the entire drive to work. Unfortunately, I sit under the AC vent in the office and for the first time, I am understand the women complaining about the cold. I am going to end up with wind burn. Barely even made it over 70F today! In July?!
But it certainly has cut back on sweating quite a bit. Still too warm when I sleep because I am waking with my head sweating. And tht is with leving all of the windows wide open.
-
Dang, AC on this is the time to apply a wet cloth and really cool down O:O
-
Ice cubes wrapped in a cool wet town around your neck. Best tip I ever learned in the military for staying cool when it was over 100F.
-
Gotta love the A.C!
As railroads opened the West, so Air Conditioners opened the South !
-
I may be 3 or 4 weeks late, but I'm happy I found this. I started shaving about a year ago and ever since I have, I get cold sooo easy. I'm a small, sort of skinny guy in the first place and I feel like the small amount of hair I had before helped a little with temperature, lol.
I'm in Michigan, so we only need air conditioner for about...3 or 4 months out the year, but I rather just drink ice water and sit in my underwear. Air conditioner = blah.
-
I'm in Rhode Island and only get a couple of weeks out of the year when I'd use the ac so I don't bother installing them anymore but would make sleeping at night more comfortable if I did. Walking into an air conditioned store or room doesn't bother me though.
-
Finally some relief in Central Texas! It's been raining and cooled down for a few days now and I am lovin it.
-
Here in our place, air conditioner are considered luxury. But, health wise we love the fresh air coming from nature, it is a lot refreshing and cooling. I don't sweat when we are in air-conditioned rooms and that is not healthy for our body. Ceiling Fans (http://www.fanimation.com/)
-
We have a/c only cause the wife wants it. I love it hot(!) and if it were up to me, a ceiling fan would suffice except for the most extreme days.
But if being shirtless nearly 24/7 during the summer (except @ work and in various establishments) with the a/c running doesn't bother me too much, I doubt that being bald with the a/c running would bother me much either...
