Title: Jim Cantore
Post by: Paul on February 23, 2007, 08:43:19 PM
While stocking up on firewood and beverages for yet another storm, I was keeping an eye on the weather channel.  Unless I missed a thread, there has been no mention of a very confident sly guy, Jim Cantore.  Not sure if you count a weather forcaster as a celeb, but this is one dude that seems very self assured about his slyness.

Just caught the weather with sly weatherman Jim Cantore - damn that dude was sporting some shadow.  Could tell how pronounced his horseshoe is.  We need to run an intervention on him and get him up on the latest products.

Before I found SBG and this forum, I always looked at jim cantore and thought he had a cool dome.  Since I got here, I see lots of cool domes.

Yeah - and once we get Cantore, his mission is to work on the weatherman with the thick horseshoe

I just realized that through my day job I have a contact over at the Weather Channel.  I'm going to try to get in touch with him.

Well, I was watching the Today show this morning and Jim Cantore was taking the place of Al Roker.  It is good to see a Sly guy get more exposure in the national media.  I don't know if you all know this, but NBC bought out The Weather Channel.  I noticed that with the recent deep freeze around the country, we have seen more of Jim Cantore on NBC.  The buyout of The Weather Channel is why.  So I know we will see more of him.  Too bad Al  Roker doesn't keep sly all the time.  Hey Tyler, you said you have contact with The Weather Channel.  Did you ever get in touch with Jim?

Cantore is almost a member of the family for a lot of us in Hurricane Alley.  He's one of our important resources when it comes to anticipating where the storm will hit.  It seems that they always send that guy to the worst place for the storms--to the extent that if he showed up in New Orleans before a storm, I'd seriously consider evacuating for the first time!  Apparently from the reports on TWC he's just really passionate about weather.  I remember when he was in his buzz phase, and I was first considering or should I say  beginning to admit that I was losing my hair in a serious way.  He was sort of a path finder for me too as a result of that.  He's yet another example of the safe and sane way to deal w/ MPB.  Shadow, it's a fact of life, learn to live w/ it, but keep it smooth.  He would be an interesting person to meet, but just not in the heart of hurricane season!
