Title: How to look attractive in glasses? :3
Post by: baldhighschooler on December 21, 2013, 03:42:26 PM
Hey guys, I'm personally on both sides of the fence... So in dealing with both genders I've learned that asking guys is going to yield the most truthful answer... xD So. I'm bald, and very young. Lost most of my hair at 14. 18 now and my forehead is still growing. Shaved my head. I'm keeping it down to receding stubble until I get the dreaded horseshoe (then it's gone for good!). I keep a chinstrap as well. What kind of glasses would look attractive on a younger bald guy with a round face? I need prescription glasses, and the only men's glasses that I can seem to find are of the generic square variety.

I think all three of the photos that you put in with glasses look good....Personally, to me, if someone is confident and sure of themselves, the glasses on the face shouldn't matter. But if I had to pick which one suits you the best, I would go with the second one....just my 0.02

I agree with Sir Harry. The sun glasses look cool and I like the wire frames, too. You look good in all the pictures. Eye glass styles are a matter of taste. For me, I like roundish wire frames but on the small side. But I have seen other guys wearing bold plastic frames that look good, too. It does come down to how you carry yourself. Find something YOU like and then wear them with confidence.

I can't seem to find it now but I've been looking for computer progressive reading glasses for awhile and I ran across a website where you could scan a picture of your face in to the website and "try on" their glasses.  If I can find it, I'll post it here.  I'm thinking the steampunk look might not be good for every day, though.   O:O

Here's one site where you can "try-on" the glasses but this isn't the one that I was talking about.

Well, as it turns out there are quite a few of these sites.  Here, get your Google Fu on...

The best thing is go to your local opticians and try them on.  I only wear glasses at work and actually my latest pair are bolder than ones before, as I tried them on and liked them in the store. It's quite good in the store to play around and try on the different styles

Easier said than done -- my sight is bad enough that I can't really see what a pair of frames looks like on my face. So I have to either guess, or rely on others to tell me what they look like.

<---- Explains why I've purchased the same "retro" frames three times in a row.

That all said, you're a fine-looking young man. You'd look good in any non-outrageous frames.

Me, too. I try to wear my contacts when I'm getting new glasses. Otherwise I can't tell what looks good because I can't see anything!

Lucky -- I cannot wear contacts.

The site you want is www.zennioptical.com. I just bought two pairs there that arrived this week. Photos will follow.

they do have a feature to try on the frames. Upload a photo of yourself, straight on, no glasses.  They set the pupil locations with your mouse, and then put the glasses image on your face.  Slick.

They have LOTS of styles and are very affordable. I've had good luck with them. Only one pair several years ago gave me issues. the hinge area just did not hold well. Kept getting loose on me.  Otherwise, all of my glasses from them have served well.  I'd say I've had 10-15 pairs so far.

I really like the rimless styles. But I also have some just for 'attitude' for special occasion. At their prices, I can afford multiple pairs at one time.

I have worn glasses since the fifth grade. That makes it over forty years now.

An optician once showed me that, unless you want frames that call attention to themselves, the easiest way to find frames that work with your face to find a pair that fits to just the top of your eyebrow and follows the curve of your eyebrow.

I have followed that advice each time I get a new pair and, regardless of the size of the lenses, it really does work.

It comes down to personal preference, ultimately you're the one wearing them so pick something you like.

Like everyone has said BHS it really does come down to personal preference. Try on a bunch of different styles and you will find one that fits your face and is to you're liking. Bring a female friend with you and see what she likes on you so you know of what is attractive to the opposite sex.

I myself am very picky with my glasses and have found that the the bold frames work the best for me. Below is a pic of my current glasses. The one on the left is a pair of brown Oliver Peoples and the one on the right is a pair of black Persols.

Very nice, Doc. I have worn contact lenses for as long as I can remember. My eyes are now starting to reject them. I can wear them for only a few hours at a time and they are not comfortable. I can't seem to find a pair of eye glasses I really like. I like smaller frames but I have a complicated prescription and need a bigger frame to accommodate my trifocal lenses. Sucks getting old!

I hear you Mike. I still wear contacts most of the time, but I've gotten lazy and sleep in them when I shouldn't so every so often I gotta take a break and wear my glasses. I'm a biker so until I find some frames that I can get a prescription and ride in I gotta make sure I can still wear contacts.

Without seeming like a label whore, I have found that the higher end glasses tend to have better selection and something for everyone. But I know glasses, as with many things, is a very personal choice and one not to be taken lightly.
