is it daily or after 2 days or weekly?
-
everyday for me except for the past couple days......
-
do you get any pimples in the back in the head?
-
During the Summer, every day. Rest of the time I would try to keep it up but it'd be more like every 2 days.
-
Daily. I hate :Xo! the velcro feeling
-
Velcro is not my friend--Daily
-
Pretty much daily!
-
Daily. Sometimes twice in the same day if I have a event to go to.
-
Every day !! O0
-
When I'm sly (roughly April through December*) I shave it every other day as daily causes issues with the back of my neck.
*In the winter months, I buzz it sans guard once a week.
-
Daily! O0
J
-
Daily
-
Daily with maybe taking a Saturday off every now and then.
-
Daily--wouldn't like to start the day w/o a baby butt smooth head. Sets up the day. O0
-
Every day.
-
Every day. Even when I think I don't have time, i make time! 8)
-
how do you guys shave everyday? thats INSANE! i dont have enough growth in a day to shave, i end up nicking my head badly and getting razor burn. i need AT LEAST 2 days before i can shave again.
-
I shave everyday. After 24hrs my head feels like sandpaper.
-
Skeptron -- I shave daily.
Ghost -- if there's drag when I run my hand over my cranium, I figure there's something to shave. I hate sandpaper and velcro!
-
I shave every day but skip the occasional Saturday. Yesterday was one of those Saturdays. I couldn't believe how much stubble I had when I got up this morning. I got off to a late start and really didn't have time to shave today, but I made time. No way was I going out in public with all that nasty stubble.
-
I like the 2-day routine
-
Maybe I am not one of those faithful slaves to the sly look :)
I used to shave every 2 days from September to the end of November. After that I got bald guyz shave gel which I find works much better if I leave at least 3 days in between. So I shave every 4 to 5 days now.
-
Your just a rebel Math Guy....LOL..... O0
-
if u shave daily dont you get
white pimples in the head?
-
Your just a rebel Math Guy....LOL..... O0
Yeah I know lol. No the thing is I still have difficulty shaving the back of my head. When I became a member back in October I believe you said to give an electric razor a try. But since I'm short on cash I still haven't done that. Well maybe cash is not the only problem. It would take some time to get used to using an electric one and with my studies in the way I wouldn't be able to learn how to use it. ;D
I can't wait for the summer because that's when my studies are done.

Not yet maybe, but stick around and we'll get you there. ;)

No. I get pimples if I don't shave every day.

Yeah, Math, I have had quite a bit of experience with an electric in the past. The thing about the electric is the fact you have to get your head conditioned to it and that takes at least 3-4 weeks. When you first start using a good electric your shave will not be that good. Most guys that slam the electric razors use them for a couple days and then just assume they don't shave well. But if you continue you will find the shave will get better and better over time. I use a Fusion and sometimes an electric now and I can tell you that even though the Fusion gets me a closer shave the electric comes in darn close to the same shave I get with a blade. !! O0

Every day or twice a day if the velcro is bugging me. I try to take weekends off - but by the afternoon, it's gotta go!
-
Usually every other day,,,
-
Every day with a break at odd times. I hate it when my head is not absolutely smooth.
-
Every day bro...has got to be a perfectly smooth bald head..
I mean how does a stubble buzz compare?
15+ years slick daily...no pimples O0
-
Oh yeah, daily! Sometimes twice if I am going out on the town with the wife (Food shopping and McDonalds.... sheesh!) :P
-
I shave my noggin daily. Every now and then i will skip a day
>:D
-
I usually shave every day, but will skip a day or two now and then.
-
I go daily but if i have an event to go to in the middle or end of the day, i will wait until about an hour before that to shave so will be smooth all night long ^-^
-
every other day because my hair doesnt grow enough in a day to shave. if i try to shave daily i irritate my head and for some reason have a darker than normal shadow.
i found that if i actually wait like a week then shave i get the smoothest closest shave. its weird. but ya....every other day here.
-
at the moment every two days, but i am thinking of shaving the head every day O0 O0
-
Every day, but with the grain ;)
-
Daily. Can't stand the velcro.
-
Shaving the dome is like exfolliating. Besides getting that irritating velcro off the dome, it keeps the head free & clear of seborrheic dermatitis.
Plus, I look so damn good with a smooth dome. O:O
-
Everyday. I love the process of shaving my head too much to dare skip a day!
-
ive always shaved every other day but starting tommorow im gonna try the every day thing cuz i REALLY want to have a smooth dome daily. i just dont understand how you guys have so much time to shave EVERY day i either dont have the time or im too lazy for daily shaving. and also doesnt shaving every day irritate your head by making it sore or something or razor burn?
i tried the everyday thing for a week when i first started going sly but dropped it down to every other day cuz it just wasnt working. i couldnt get a smooth shave cuz i didnt have enough hair grown in yet. so the razor just cut and knicked my head.
-

It takes, like 10 minutes. ???

No.

it prolly takes me roughly 15-20 minutes because im really picky. i go over my head like 4 times in different directions to make sure i dont miss any spots. i guess im just too lazy too spend 20 minutes in front of the mirror everyday. but by all means im gonna try cuz i REALLY want to keep a smooth dome. the first week will probably be the hardest part but once i get past that im hoping it will be as easy as pie. it will be a normal thing like brushing my teeth, deodorant, etc.

How much time did you used to spend fussing with your hair?

After taking care of pre and post shave duties properly, I've always been able to shave my head everyday. Before that, I use to get bad irritation AND bad shaves. I also think your head adjusts to the frequency of your shaving. I still can't shave twice a day though...
Maybe some modifications in your shave routine would make shaving everyday easier.
-
I always find that I have less scalp irritation when I shave every day. I usually skip one day over the weekend but if I let it go any longer than that, I start to break out. I can see the bumps on top of my head under the bright lights in the bathroom, at the end of a day that I didn't shave.

well put. i cant argue with that lol.

I'm with Razor here. If I don't shave every day, I get really irritated on the back of my head. It's like when the hair is growing it holds on to the skin and raises it. It is sore for at least 3 days. So it just makes sense to shave everyday. Plus you can't go wrong with a smooth dome. You never can tell when that hottie will ask if she can rub it. ;) You don't want to be caught unprepared.
-
I'm with Razor and BaldMark. I start breaking out if I don't shave every day. Every once in a while, I'll skip a day, but that's all my head can take. I get no irritation at all as long as I exfoliate first and let the hot water in the shower soften-up the stubble. Also, I can get an incredibly smooth dome with just a pass or two of the razor going against the grain. If I went over it four or five times, I think I'd have irritation.
-
Virtually every day, sometimes twice a day if I don't like the way ot feels. When I leave it for a couple of days I just feel bad about it.
-
Daily - like many others I can't stand the velcro feeling and a nice baby butt smooth head just starts my day off right!
-
Every day in the warm weather, every other day in the winter. I prefer a smooth dome, but the velcro helps hold the beanie in place when it's cold.
-
every day sometimes twice a day if i have something to go to
-
Wow, what a relief reading this was. This made my day. I always wanted to shave my head every day but was told by someone it wasn't too great for the scalp. Looking forward to finally getting ride of that stupid stubble once and for all.
-
This is my third day of the "every day shave" routine. This has been my best shave yet! I think it just took a few times for my noggin to get used to daily shaving. I was concerned about irritation and bumps, but with the in-depth shave routine I use (thanks to this forum) everything is going well. Finally rid of the stubble! ;D
-
Shaving everyday has really made my skin tough. My girlfriend said she can tell the difference since I first went sly. However, although my skin is tough, it's still nice and smooth. ^-^
-
I've been shaving everyday since I started- cannot imagine going very long between shaves - velcro drives me crazy -
-
Another every day here. I do admit that I probably miss one or two days every now and again.
I also shave twice a day for special occasions But, thanks be to Ward for the eternal line...."I also think your head adjusts to the frequency of your shaving." Dude I'm in total agreement with that. I mean, how else can you explain it all?? :*))
-
The question of how often a guy cleans up the dome comes up all the time. I think it depends on a lot of factors--1, are you profoundly bald, bald by choice or thinning; 2, does your skin react kindly to daily shaves and 3, do you, as a matter of choice like or dislike anything short of a baby butt dome. I'm not profoundly bald-ie everything dropped out and whether or not it's shaved nothing is there. I've got survivors, spirited little guys who have held on, but not in sufficient numbers to provide anything like "coverage." I chose, therefore, to remove these hardy reminders of my former hairy glory--and I don't
think they appreciate it one bit. My scalp tolerates and thrives on a daily shave not withstanding their objections and finally, I hate velcro and stubble.
Hence, I am a religious daily shaver--less than 15 days in almost 20 months have not seen the clean shave of my great and glorious dome--it's a gift to the world.
Any further questions?

Daily Shaver
although its taken sometime to get there and some major adjustments to my routine, i'm finally there and love it.
I can't stand the velcro/ sandpaper head, and like another guy said, you never know when a lady wants to rub your head, you don't want to be caught off guard 8)

I'm like the majority here and shave daily.
The only times I don't shave daily is when I'm sick, like the other week when I was pretty much in bed the whole time with a really bad cold and sinus infection. Considering I barely left my bed for about 4 days I didn't shave. Although as soon as I was starting to feel better the first thing I did was shave, and doing that mede me feel that much better as well!

That's pretty much what I experienced the last time I was sick. Getting rid of all the stubble made me feel a lot better.

Yeah, the laying in bed doing nothing is needed to get better, so when you're feeling good enough to get up and move again getting back to that smooth slyness makes you feel even that much better. Like being back to normal.

How often?
As often as I want to (which, currently, is daily). Or, as often as I need to feel like I'm cleaned up and squared away.
-
I find that my obsession with having a smooth dome is getting worse, not better, as time goes by. I may skip shaving one day over the weekend and by the next morning I feel like a hairy beast. I don't think I could ever adjust to having hair on my head again.

I don't know, :/O, but didn't you really mean to say, ". . .is getting better, not worse. . ." >:D
From a Sly Point of View the sentence doesn't make sense otherwise.

From a sly point of view, there's no such thing as such an obsession. ;)

every 3 or 4 day, I dont mind the velcro cause most of my mates hate touching it lol but im trying 7 days just to see what it feels like. I'm at 5 now & it feels pretty good.
-
Nearly every day.
So far not more than 1 time a week do I skip a day.
-
I do an every other day, unless I'm going out that night. :)
-
Shaved, slick and shined Monday-Friday by 6:00 AM. Weekends depends on what I am doing but generally shave daily.

Hey, I'm currently 16, and was wondering how many times I should shave my head?
I currently use a 4 blade Gillette razor, pretty good, but the strip at the top goes away quickly, not sure if that means anything though.
I just shaved my head today, and my confidence kind of went down because i'm not sure if people will like it. Yet, the more I read about you guys and how a lot of people shave their heads, I feel better.
I'm not balding, but I wanted to go with the swave completely shaven look, with the thick black rectangular rimmed glassed. (truthfully I do that just cause I hate looking young, and I like to feel older and mature)
Anyways, my brother tells me I should shave my noggin once a week, but I hear once daily, or every 2 days. I don't have a sensitive scalp nor a sensitive face, I've been shaving for a year now, and even when I first started shaving i've never gotten a razor burn, cut, or anything. Even when I shaved my noggin I never got a razor cut or anything, IS SO SMOOTH! I love how smooth it is, I feel like a monk or something :).
Any advice? 8)

If you want to keep it smooth, you have to shave it every day. It's normal to feel a little self-conscious about it at first. Stick with it for 30 days and you'll feel differently.
