Day #14 and Counting
«

I have reached day #14 since I shaved my head, and didn't shave my beard. It still feels kind of weird, since this is backward from the previous 35 years of my shaving history!
We just got back from a week on the beach, so I am still a little bit red, but not burned. My skin is very fair, and just gets red in the sun, even with good sunscreen, then goes back to its natural tone after a few days.
I am headed toward 30 days straight of shaving my head, and eventually to as much beard as my wife and my profession will allow (I work in direct patient health care). My beard is coming in very "salt & pepper", with lots of white, particularly from my lower lip to the chin. It will need to get pretty long in the white areas, to be easily visible in photos, as well as from a distance. I have trimmed my lower neck to just above the Adam's apple, to keep me from looking too scruffy.
I am busy researching beard balms now, to help with the slight itching and hair/skin conditioning.
Any tips appreciated. If I posted in the wrong area, please move my post as needed!

Your beard grows in quickly!. Looks good, and extra good with the bald head.
I always tell the young guys, grow the beard before you meet your wife. She will never know the difference and you won't have beard wars. Just said that yesterday morning to a young fellow at church!
Glad you enjoyed your time at the beach.

Looks great. Your beard certainly grew quickly and goes well with shaved head -not that I am biased.

Thanks for the replies. I will try to post weekly photos of the beard, if I can remember!

Great looking beard and bald head. Your scalp looks completely smooth. This look definitely suits you.

Nice Job, Beadog! You did that in 14 days? I can do that in 14 weeks, maybe.

Beadog, its looking great, and the full beard/shaved head combo is always a good choice.

I am encouraged by my growth after just 14 days, but at 52 years old, I guess I shouldn't be too surprised!
I ordered some beard oil, beard balm, and mustache wax from "Badass Beard Care" earlier today. I hope to end up with about a 1 inch, well manicured beard that will appreciate the products!
