I love shaving my head smooth. Sometimes I fight too much for the smoothness. It even seems that sometimes I have to shave at a weird angle to get some patches smooth.
But anyway, I can't shave everyday because once I am done shaving, My skin will hurt a little and also itches a tad bit.
I normally put some Burt's Bees Aftershave on my head. It helps, but not as much as I would like.
Can anyone suggest something that I can do once I am done shaving to avoid some of my issue?

The scalp gets irritated when we tend to shave it really close and smooth, I suggest you try rubbing a couple of ice cubes over your freshly shaven head then apply your aftershave.

I tried rubbing ice cubes once after irritating the scalp and it did calm everything down. I forgot about that so thanks for bringing it up. I have to remember that for when I scrape too much.
-
Try rinsing your scalp with a cup or two of cold tap water then apply a mild astringent like ClearHead or witch hazel. That's take away the sting and calm the irritation.

I will try the witch hazel out and see how that does. And the ice cubes.
thanks guys..

I have found that using a medicated exfoliator after scraping the dome calms my scalp a bit. St Ives is one example but Wally World has their own in-house brand (Equate) that costs about 1/3 as much.
I also use a home-brew of Witch Hazel, Aloe gel, and Tea Tree Oil that calms the scalp as well and also leaves a nice shine.

I apply which hazel after a blade or an electric shaver...then the aloe vera.

I got some witch hazel and used it last night. It burned for a few seconds when first applied.
After that, not another issue.
I think I found my new Head shaving post care. Thanks guys..

Thayers also has a Witch Hazel line that is alcohol free. I like the one that has Aloe in it. Completely burn free.

I use an alum block after shaving - it does burn a bit but my skin settles down in a minute or two and I get zero irritation. Plus the alum is about the same as a styptic pencil so any of the occasional little spots of bleeding seal right up.

I use Tolsom products, especially the after shave splash and the skin smoothing gel.

I've been using Thayers Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera and vitamin E and then Fruit of the Earth Aloe Vera.
It seems to work very well.

Once you have finished shaving, rinse your head with cold water[ the best part of the shave for me] for at least 60 seconds ,splash and rub with witch hazel, allow to air dry, finnish with a application of dr organics double strengh aloe vera gell. result, head feels good, looks great, and no irritation.
