looks good, very sharp...what body do you use?...something expensive i bet?... i have just got into dslr photography, bought an entry level canon 1100d, with a Canon EF 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 III Lens, a 50mm 1.8 prime and the stock 18-55is lens, I mainly take photo's of bands...I would welcome a critical view... http://www.flickr.com/photos/77572593@N08/7102185293/in/set-72157629509436786/

Geeman actually the camera body I use is the Canon 30D with its 8.2 megapixel  ;D  Looking at your photo's Geeman, they are beautiful. Nice sharp photo's, and the B & W really adds to the workflow.

What kind of flash are you using?  Bounce or the onboard of the camera?

thanks jb, your photo's just go to show what a good lens can do. Most of my photo's are without flash, as bands/venues don't normally allow it, some of the studio shots used flash, and I bounced of the ceiling, using my secondhand canon flash, I'm new to flash, but thats the beauty of digital, it costs nothing to practice. The 50mm prime is great for low light/indoor shots, and at around £80 it's a bargain

Yes ,  but would say that the person or artist behind the camera is the one that can take the shot and at the right time to enjoy the photo that comes out !

I call good Photo's the same as a great painting !  Maybe wrong but at this point in my life do I care  ;)  NO is the answer .   8)

I did in no way mean that he lens is entirely responsible for your amazing shots...if that is how it was read, then I hope my previous sentence has addressed it. What I mean is, I first though that you must have a very expensive 5000mp body! and when you said you have a 30D with 8.2mp! I was astonished at the quality, not the composition, the latter is indeed the "artist" is responsible for.

Geeman I fully understood  :*))  Many people out there fall into the megapixel myth, and purchase their camera's according to how many megapixel's that camera has.  Also I am one to use lenses meant for other camera makes.  My Sigma lens has a Sony A mount that is made for the Konica Minolta Maxxum Auto Focus SLR or the Digital camera's.  I saved over $700.00 on my Sigma 170-500mm lens purchase by doing it this way.  I then purchased an adapter that has a aperture ring on it, so I can set the aperture in the lens for what I want it to do.

Now the benefit to owning this lens, is that I can now purchase one of the new Sony A77 or A99 DSLR camera's such as the or Konica Minolta DSLR or Minolta Maxxum AF SLR camera without using the adapter with aperture ring, as that would then be controlled in the camera body   O0

If you do this for your camera needs, you can save lots of money on lens purchases.  You just need to make sure your adapter is like mine Sony A to Canon EOS..  so I hope this helps  O0 O0
