Title: New from Chicago
Post by: buddy on April 09, 2007, 08:22:26 PM
Hi all.  New from Chicago area here.  Lost a bet on the 2007 Super Bowl and had to shave my head.  Loving it since then.  Haven't been able to go more than a couple days without having to shave it again.

Can't wait for summer to get here so I can work on a nice tan..... :popo

Welcome to the SBG forum buddy; if you like your new Sly look and it makes you feel/look better, and makes you feel more confident, I wouldn't say you lost a bet, but rather you gained new found freedom. O0

I can't believe how many are on this board.

Any ideas on how I can get a jump start on a tan up there?  Also, what do you guys use to get a nice shine.  I tried baby oil and don't really like it.  I've been using Bald Guyz Moisture Gel and that seems to help a little, but I'm thinking there is something out there better.

Welcome Buddy! Some of the guys have used sunless tanners, but with little to no success. As far as shine, I recommend HeadBlade's HeadLube in Glossy finish. Check out www.headblade.com for their full line of awesome stuff.

To get a tan takes time.  Many of the guys here have found that the sunless tanners don't work and tanning beds are too dangerous.

I'm sporting a decent tan right now from drving to work with my sunroof open.  I put on some SPF 15 and then drive to work and home.  It took a couple of weeks, but I eventually got a decent tan going.

Welcome to the sly side! I have found the sunless tanners are fine for a special one of occassion, used it at my wedding and the like....they stink way too much though...

just give it time to naturally even out...too much tanning might bring too many freckles or sunspots on your newly naked dome.

Buddy, know what ya mean about trying to tan up here, (especially with the snow predicted for tonight and tomorrow)  The sunless tanners can leave you blotchy.  Best to do is just get outdoors as much as possible.  It only took an hour on the bike a couple of weeks ago to get a good color.  HeadLube glossy should give you a decent shine like PigPen said.  BTW, you in the city or in the burbs?

Yeah! Hello to all the new Chicago Baldys!
Matter of fact, timing will allow me to shave again next week. Sure would like to find a barbershop that wouldn't freak over shaving the head of a female.
Anyhow.. I digress...... WELCOME!!! Looking great!  O0

Hey, what can I say.  I actually live outside of the city, therefore, I believe that I don't have to choose between either team if I don't want to.  I'm just a Chicago fan.  I have done a lot of work with the Cubs, but I've gone to many more Sox games through the years.  It's just easier to get to and park etc....

Sox got their first no-no in a long time.  I worked tht night and didn't get a chance to see any of the game.  But I'm looking forward to getting to see both teams play this summer a couple of times.

Good one,  :*)) but it's apparently the "older" minds that need "remolding" :*))  Actually not teaching today, it's a well known fact that teachers work too hard and need a day off a month.

Welcome Buddy!!! No worries, I attend games at both ball parks myself...when at U.S. Cellular, I root for the White Sox and when at Wrigley, I just root for whoever the Cubs may be playing that day...  8)
