That is SO wrong on so many levels.

HERE HERE!
Me being bald has nothing to do with my opinion....that lady did a wonderful thing and her boss was a complete jerk. The fact that customers would have been appalled is truly pathetic. Remind me to never spend my vacation dollars in Ontario.
Why was she only given the option to wear a wig? Why not let her put a lapel pin on her uniform saying "I shaved my head for cancer" or something else explaining her actions?
JERKS!
Well, if it made news...count on her getting a better job somewhere else after people hear this...
I would go and support her any where she worked..
especially after hearing that cr@p!

What if she went to work for an escort service?? You still gonna support her? LOL
They'll be looking at a discrimination lawsuit if there are any men with shaved heads working there .
Legal cases arent free sometimes and for what $$$$$$$$$$$$$ amount in wages. May cost her 1/3 for let's say $4,000 in wages. It's a lose lose for all.
Makes me want to go find this place and stand out in front of the restaurant with my clippers and razors and WITH HER. We all could go up there and make a statement. Set up a headshaving booth right across the street from that restaurant. Anyone willing to move the convention to Canada?? I have my passport...im ready!
HHHhhhhhmmmmm....
I may be in one of my dissenting moods. But there might be other angles to consider.
I wonder if this young lady asked/forewarned her boss ahead of time. Or if she just walked in and shocked the hell outa everyone. If the latter, she may have approached it in a more responsible manner.
....there is no question to the fact that her employers knew full well what she was doing.
....there is no question to the fact that her employers knew full well what she was doing.
If this is unequivocally the case....then...YES...YES
....let's burn the devil's den of an establishment and string up Satan's minions by their testicles.
:x! >:( :Xo! W#p
Well, I've been to Owen Sound many times, and I know it's not a big city. I also know from when I shaved my head for COPS For Cancer fund raisers in the past, that word gets out well before you do it to everyone because you collect pledges to shave your head.
Of course, and I am playing devil's advocate, there could be other factors in her losing the job.

Besides, her head was not even shaved. The photo in the paper looked like it was a #2 buzz cut. Perhaps not the most flattering haircut for her, but it certainly was not extreme in any way. There are plenty of women out there with hair just as short or shorter.

lol, well, I actually let my hair and beard grow quite long before doing it, and it WAS in fact quite against national uniform policy, but it was waived as it was for a good cause. And there was actually a picture and pledge sheet explaining it so people could see when ever they walked into our office. People who didn't see the ads about what I was doing asked about my ratty appearance and I would explain to them what it was I was doing, then everyone would pull out their wallet or purse and pledge me.
Actually, I do get your point, but see, when you look at charities out there, they never require you do do anything that could impact your life in a negative fashion. I hadn't seen your fine print until now though, and sorry to hear that. Charitable causes are to help support others, and when they get in the way of your own life, or your participation in them negatively affects the life of someone else, then it can no longer be considered a charity, at least in my perspective.
