Title: Invisible Tattoos - I'm Just Askin'!
Post by: Semi-Sly on July 26, 2014, 01:33:13 PM
Do any of you guys have experience with/have actually seen one of those black light tattoos?  Are they truly invisible except in black light or do they leave a trace that is visible to the naked eye?

In response to your question, I haven't even heard of invisible tattoos.  But the new avatar looks great, so I had to comment.  Very distinguished!

I heard of invisible tattoos quite a few years ago. At the time, I recall, there were concerns about the safety of the ink - but a lot has probably changed since then in terms of experience and chemistry. So all in all, this is probably no help at all :-)

My tattoo artist (Miya Bailey, City of Ink founder Atl,Ga) doesn't like them. He says they are still unsafe for most people. If memory serves me right, they leave a slight white tint. No one at my shop uses it to my knowledge only scratchers or hipster tattooist. I'd pass on it. How often would one need to be under a blacklight for that time money & pain to be worth it? Better question is why would one be under a blacklight enough to validate aforementioned time money & pain?
