I think the mails will be going out soon. SWMBO won't be happy.  I just spent 2/3 of the price of a shipped Mongoose on the B&B cancer charity auction.. It's in a great cause though so she's ok with the charity purchase,  but she won't be as happy about the mongoose.  Hopefully she won't ask the price....
Hi Brian:  That is great news that you got a Mongoose on the B&B Breast Cancer charity auction.  I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts and pics, of course. O:O O0

No no, I didn't get a mongoose. I got other razors, DEs, but spent the equivalent of 2/3 the price of a mongoose.  Sorry I wasn't more clear!

Hi Brian:  Thanks for the clarification.  I look forward to seeing your new shave toys.  So... what razors did you get?

A 1962 Gillette slim adjustable, and a 3 Piece vintage Feather DE in a case.

One is being shipped from within Japan so should be here in a day or two.  The other is coming from Canada I think so will take a wee bit longer!

Nice picture Dann, and congratulations on passing the one month mark!

No picture from me today, no time, but I had my first shave with my 1962 Slim Adjustable, which I got on the charity auction over on B&B last month.

I paired it up with my Silvertip badger from Whipped Dog, Vitos pre shave and Ingrams shave cream.  Blade was a new Feather.

Dessert was witch hazel with aloe, followed by Lucido aftershave and 444 balm.

Glorious shave.  I only used the adjustable on 3 but it was just so comfortable and smooth.  A razor like this is built to last.  It's in better condition than I am at around 12 years older!

I will get a photo on here soon, although the quality of some of the SOTD photos on here are a bit intimidating to someone like me who has no eye for photography!!

First SE shave.  Very good shave.  Comparable to my NEW LC, but I didn't really get the angle and pressure down until the final pass, so it could be better.

Razor:    GEM Micromatic Bullet Tip
Blade:    GEM PTFE / Ted Pella
Lather:   Beer Soap Brewing Co. Bay Rum + TOBS Shaving Shop
Brush:    VDH Black Handle Boar
After:     Witch Hazel + Pinaud Clubman Original

3 Pass DFS - WTG, XTG, GTX

Ahhhh just had another relaxing, smooth safety razor shave, I'm really loving my Mongoose that my other safety razors are collecting dust.  The Jurgen Hempel Handle (made in Germany) is a great compliment to the Mongoose razor.  Thanks to Mr.Zed aka Dan for the Clubman Pinaud Original. O0
